Fazluna was running a little late and only just signed up in time for the Games. As she arrived, she noted that the cavern was every bit as beautiful as Damek had told her it would be, but didn't really get a chance to have more than a cursory glance at the other dragons before the announcement was made that the Games were about to start... but some of them looked pretty serious!

As they crowded round the door, she noticed a bright blue spiral... was that really Caribbean Sea?! Damek had told her about this dragon and she was surprised - and pleased - that she had recovered enough from that round to try again... but wait... what was happening?! Oh no!!!! The poor thing was obviously still a bit highly strung cos she jumped the gun and got disqualified. Oh, that's just rotten luck. Still, Fazluna didn't know her personally, and was happy to take any advantage she could - that was one step closer to the Earthshaker already!

And now the door was open properly and Fazluna was taken aback by the sheer ferocity with which some of the dragons lunged out. She got to the cornucopia in one piece but then, amongst bread and ham and fish and potato chips and mashed potato and tools and weapons and... aaargh! She burrows into the middle of the cornucopia to catch her breath and her thoughts while the others go nuts around her. She notices another dragon has done the same...hang on, she recognises his picture - he's actually her team mate!! Perhaps once the commotion has settled down they can form an alliance.

Saharath isn't satisfied with the open clearings in this part of the Feldspar Farms. If she's going to make camp, she's going to do it somewhere with a good lookout spot built in. Speaking of food, let's turn in to the Hungry Games for the latest news.
We have spectator gifts in play now, as two of our dragons received small boxes fired at them from afar via catapult. The surviving contents of one box were a hunting trophy, a plague patriarch's party hat, and 99 canines. The other dragon was thought to be in need of assistance, so they've been given a helping hand (or two).

Jordan, Stardust, and Vermello have all got knockouts on the mind after that ruckus at the cornucopia during the breadbath. Fall soon finds them gathered together and planning to hunt down more players to reduce the competition as quickly as possible. Figuring it for a decent plan--it'll mean more food for each of them later if they're successful--he agrees to join them in their plot. Off they go!

Either someone out there wants to encourage Nem, or they think she won't get any food gathered. Whichever one it is, they've sent a package of fresh steaks wrapped in ice packs to her, guaranteeing she'll get a 20% bonus on her final prize value.

Umber secretly follows the four dragon hunting band from a distance, watching and waiting in the hopes that he'll get to hunt a hunter. As such, he spends most of the morning hiding in various bushes and trying not to be seen.

Xanthophyll is in a fine mood this morning. He's found a semicircle of apple trees growing around a big piece of marble, and nothing can get him down... at least, not until he looks at the marble and realizes it is serving as the headstone for some deceased Cragbacked Bouldursae. Is this--is this a burial site of some kind? What kind of dragon goes to this much effort for mere familiars? It's ridiculous! Who's ever heard of a tomb of four bears?! Never mind. At least the apples look big and juicy. He'll start picking them.

After the chaos of the breadbath, Aequorea decides that priority one is acquiring some form of self-defense. It takes a while, but raiding a little bakery wagon parked by an empty grain silo gives her what she needs in the form of a slingshot made out of angled cake spatulas bound together with cheesecloth strips, a few silicone cooking bands, and the bowl of a broken tablespoon.

Friday knows that a farm like this has to have beasties on it somewhere, so he spends the morning searching for some. Meat will keep Earthshaker's muscles in good working order while he stands on watch. It takes him most of the morning to locate a small group of pheasants, but once he does, he brings six of them down in a flurry of squawks and flying feathers.

Sahiz has only just realized that his baking sheet can't stick to his arm without some sort of strap built into it. He spends his morning flat on his back and staring at the sky, questioning the wisdom of his decision to join the Hungry Games.

Bilbo is busy examining his onion ring when Riku approaches his camp, hoping to rest her weary paws. Afraid of losing the only food item he's picked up so far, he leaps up and scares Riku away by putting on his best imitation of a furious Gaoler.

The distant sound of a rooster crowing has Braziliante dreaming of fresh eggs. Where there are roosters, there are probably chickens, after all! And while she's gathering breakfast for herself, she can grab a few hens for Earthshaker, yes? And by a few, we mean five. It's a nice haul.

Too much chaos, and at her size she couldn’t exactly be stealthy. When the whistle blew, she bounded away in another direction. She could hear noises behind her that sounded suspiciously like other dragons being hit by food. Knockouts already? It would be hard to be removed from the Games before one had a chance to do any work for the Earthshaker. Poor Caribbean Sea had been taken out by a technicality. Nem had been rooting for the spiral, even if he had taken out her clanmate in the previous round, and hoped to see him redeem himself. The guardian was startled from her thoughts by a grapefruit sailing past her head. The cornucopia was hazardous indeed! Still, once it was no longer a projectile the fruit had value as an offering. Nem veered her course to snatch it up as she ran by. The guardian did not see anything resembling food as she ran, so once she was a safe distance from the cornucopia she turned her attention to looking for somewhere to spend the night. She found a hollow in the earth that was roughly her size. How pleasant it was to sleep surrounded by her element again! Nem felt reassured by the presence of solid stone around her, and slept soundly until dawn. She woke to find a package of steaks waiting at her feet. A gift? The guardian thanked the Earthshaker for whoever had shown such generosity. She was off to a good start, even without braving the cornucopia.

After realizing that his baking sheet had no strap of any sort to work as a proper shield, he fell flat on his back and ended up staring at the sky. He gave a huge sigh, questioning why he entered the Games only to do this to himself. If only he had paid attention beforehand, he wouldn’t have gotten a shield without a strap for use. Why had he joined the Games like this, then? He couldn’t find anything else around to craft a strap(and, well, he didn’t know how to make one even if he had the materials. He was better off hunting the other tributes for their supplies. In a panic, he had grabbed the first item he could find and took off from the Cornucopia.

Pleased with his win, Vermello kept flying until he met up with some other contestants. He thought up a plan where they would team up with one another and hunt down others. "So I heard your names are Jordan and Stardust," as he glanced at them. A gao and snapper huh? These must be tough guys so I don't want to get too much in a fickle. He noticed a Skydancer out of the corner of his eye coming towards him and his new merry band of friends or are they...

This should be interesting. After all... I'll wipe out more players along the way including these three as well. "So say, do any of you have a plan as to what we should do from here on out to eliminate knockout other contestants?"

( @Aradan @Bezonox @Cattington If y'all are up for RP, go ahead and post. I'm lucky this time to not be knocked out round one whew. )

@Kelpoyo sure! sorry if I'm a little cranky though, my brother just bent my glasses ;-;

Stardust noticed the Spiral and grinned. Another dragon who wanted to knock everyone else out? Sweet!

"What if we set up traps?" Stardust asked the Spiral, his eyes gleaming. "We can make it so that the rock underneath the other contestants collapse, which should immediately knock them out."

Stardust then noticed a Snapper in the back. A Skydancer also was coming towards them. Flicking his tail happily, Stardust checked his bag to make sure nothing had fallen out. He then sat down, curling his tail around his paws, ready for a victory.

Saharath was glad to get away from the crowd of contestants. What a smash-up at the Cornucopia! Strange, to her mind, that no one seemed interested in the tidy little pack of camping gear off to one side; she hefted it over her shoulders. Living off the land could be so much more comfortable with the proper supplies! Plenty of time to collect food out there, and she could be so much more efficient if she slept well. But she couldn’t resist grabbing a bag of marshmallows as she strode away from the chaos. She’d collected a Box Lunch from Amharath before she left WindSky Weyr, to tide her over until she had the opportunity to start her hunt for extra food, but she didn’t figure it included any dessert, and stress made her want a little sugar! After Riku left, she’d been greeted by several others, and it had been exhausting! It felt good to find her solitude again, pacing out the miles, no need to run yet, looking for a good spot to set up a camp. Finally, as dawn crested the horizon, she found a rocky outcrop that would give her a good vantage to view any comers. She was hungry by then, so after she set up her tent, she dug out the meal she had brought with her. It expanded as she opened it, into a full Turkey Dinner! Of course! She’d almost forgotten the Harvest Feast they always had this time of year! And Amharath had even added a small crock of sauerkraut to make the meal complete - she knew Saharath’s tastes rather well! With such bounty she put the marshmallows aside for another time, in her new tote bag. The turkey had relaxed her enough. In fact, despite the brightening sky, she was ready to catch up on a little sleep before she got down to business. Her tent made it dark enough, and she dozed off, relieved to be out and about. [item=Turkey Dinner] Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

(Been meaning to write stuff, but just haven't been feeling the motivation. Kinda regret missing the first two parts, so here's a big text dump to make up for it)

Aequorea took a deep breath and pushed her feet into the
dirt. It was strange being in her flight of origin. She could feel the earth magic beneath her, more powerful than it ever was back home. This was her element.

It was a rather different feeling from when she had first arrived. Her journey had been a rushed one. At first, the clan didn't really have any options aside from Lowery: Pagari had disappeared into the tunnels as soon as the festival had been announced and no one expected Aequorea to want to go. And she hadn't really, until Atlas convinced her it would be a good way to connect to her homeland. When she told the rest of the clan she wanted to participate, they hastily threw together a teleportation spell and after some rushed goodbyes Aequorea was off.

Lowery had given her a quick summary and asked her way too many questions and when the whole crowd gathered her he gave her a gentle nudge that sent her flying towards the podium where she nervously volunteered. She'd spent her time waiting in the opening room awkwardly rolling some crystals around in a corner, and occasionally trying to go speak to some of the other competitors only to realize they weren't paying attention to her or were paying too much attention or were talking to someone else or just looked kind of mean. It was terrible, and she regretted every single on of her life choices up to that point.

But now she had been left to her own devices. This was her forte, the loneliness of the wild and the soft song of the dirt. Something familiar. Not safe by any means, but something she understood much better than dragons.

Her first priority was finding some way to defend herself. Her earth magic was normally good enough to not need weapons, but in this competition she wasn't the only earth mage. She'd need some other edge.

She found possibility in a cart on the side of the road. It was a pristine little wagon, filled to the brim with supplies. She looked over the contents, old baking tools neatly stashed in cupboards. They didn't seem useful on their own, but she remembered Lowery's slingshot from last game. Perhaps she could create something similar.

After some time, it was complete. A terribly constructed thing, but better than absolutely nothing. She plucked the strings a few times, testing its power and flexibility. She left the wagon satisfied with her little craft.

Olivine would be the first to admit she'd been rather reckless at the Breadbath, but she'd certainly learned her lesson. With the bandages now adjusted to cover her injured snout as well as the lump on her head from round one, she was determined to be more careful about who she attacked- and how she attacked them.

She'd never thought of herself as an inventor, but looking over her new creation, she felt a burst of pride. It didn't look like much, but a test run proved it to hurl peanuts with extreme, almost excessive, speed and force. It might not be enough to knock out any dragon larger than a Fae or Spiral, but if Olivine was lucky it would surprise and confuse them long enough that she could get in close and give them a good whack over the head with her pearl.

One dragon out there on the playing field has a new reason to be thankful this evening: they were given a pretty bouquet of flowers, a mermaid's shirt, and the end of a rainbow.

Braziliante's hunger leads her to thinks about home. Has her clan gathered much for its stores while she's been away? Wouldn't it be nice to have a proper meal and not these bits and scraps of this and that? She spends the rest of the night going through thoughts like those.

Worried that he might've chased away a potential friend and turned them into a dangerous enemy, Bilbo clutches his onion ring to his chest fur and cries himself to sleep. Something stirs in the darkness, but does not approach.

Agate and Riku bump into each other downriver from where Agate was fishing and talk about the players still in the game while sharing a box of shortbread cookies Riku found balanced on top of a fence post.

Raodin has a pang of guilt over the peanut butter jars he took and wonders what everyone back home thinks of him now. The thought of taking them back out of his bag and leaving them behind for someone else is a tempting one...

Erin and Sahiz don't much care for the increasingly cold nights. When Sahiz bumps into her at a warren, his arms full of potatoes, he offers to share if she'll make a fire. After a very brief debate over how to prep the taters--boil them? Mash them? Make rabbit stew?--they settle on simple roasting and chow down. Then they doze next to the fire, Sahiz tucking Erin under his wing to help her stay warm.

There's only going to be room for one tough, hardhearted winner up there on that Pillar, and Umber sure as heck isn't going to let it be Stardust. While Stardust sleeps, deep in dreams about winning a lifetime's supply of astronaut ice cream, Umber dumps his bread all over the ground and pours the canteen out on top of it, ruining it. Umber then makes his escape.

While busy picking cherries, Vermello unknowingly plucks an explosive that looks just like one and drops it into the pile on the ground. The overpowered firework promptly blows all the freshly gathered fruit into red dust. That's gonna be a 20% drop in his overall prize value...

Friday uses one of the pheasants he caught for his own dinner, but doesn't get it fully cooked. He knows this to be true because he's currently spending the night writhing in discomfort, sick to his stomach. This can't be good...
