After a night of restless sleep, Damek comes out of his tree, stretches the kinks out and sets off to find some food - it is kinda the point of all this after all.

After a bit of scouting, he finds a patch of pumpkins - excellent!!! But as he comes nearer, he sees the glint of sun shining on some blue scales. His first instinct was to retreat and hide, but then he realised it was the brilliant blue spiral he'd first noticed grabbing the first aid kit from the cornucopia. Figuring anyone whose first instinct had been to grab healing supplies couldn't be too bad - and seemed to have teamed up with dragons yesterday - Damek decided to approach him and suggest teaming up for the day.

@natureluvr - not sure if you're really RPing, but I'm gonna have limited capacity to respond much before the next announcement anyway

As the sun worked its way high into the sky, Beaumont set out once more. The farm seemed endless before him, fields stretching on to every horizon. He could barely even make out the Processing Dome in the distance; had he really come that far?

Regardless of how far he had traveled, the other competitors could be anywhere out here, a few feet away or miles in the distance. Even last night, he had seen other dragons, and that was a danger he had to be wary of. With the cover of darkness being his last chance at stealth, he opted to move slowly to preserve energy, lest he get tangled in a battle he couldn't win.

Hunger was really beginning to gnaw at his stomach, so food was the first in order of the day's activities. In the heat of the desert he doubted fish would be anywhere close by, but he wouldn't be picky in selecting other foods. Heck, he'd even take some leafy greens if he came upon them; any food was good food!

Too much time passed with no such luck, and he was prepared to find some little shady corner and keep out of harm's way for the rest of the day. As he crested one last hill, hoping for something promising, he discovered what he didn't know he had been looking for the whole time: a bean field, the plants all ripe for the picking!

He scrambled down the slope with less grace than a newborn foal and took care not to squash a single plant. It was the most glorious sight he had spied in the competition yet!

With no sign of any other dragons upon the horizon, he set to work establishing a little camp. A flat stone made the perfect drying station, allowing him to cure up the perfect ammunition for his slingshot. He gathered some hundred-and-fifty beans for that endeavor before proceeding to collect up some rations for himself.

The day was perfect--warm and peaceful. As Beaumont slowly shuffled his way through the field, he thought of his little home on the cliffs, where he kept a similar little garden. Whiskey, his apprentice, would probably be there tending it, every so often glancing up to look for visitors. Had he caught the Hungry Games on Beaumont's little radio?

And how was Lucy, his familiar? He hoped she wasn't causing Farosh, the stablekeep, too much trouble. Heavens knew how ornery a tunnel hydra could be. If only she could be here with him! That would be quite the advantage. Beaumont smiled at the thought.

So he passed the morning slowly and quietly, gathering beans. With hope, they would sustain him well for the days to come!

Although she was a Pearlcatcher, Olivine did enjoy meat from time to time, and so when she found the tracks of a large rabbit she eagerly set to hunting it down. She followed its trail to a small copse of trees and bushes in a scraped-out hollow in the ground. She had just begun stealthily creeping towards the undergrowth, hoping to catch sight of it, when she heard the footsteps of approaching dragons.

Echo and Cinnaminny had been nice enough last night, but that was at the end of the day when everyone was tired and just wanted to rest. Now it was a new day, and everyone was full of fresh energy. And from the sounds of it, it was quite a few dragons.

Olivine decided it wasn't worth the risk of staying in the open and leapt into the bushes, frantically pulling branches over her hide and brighter wings.

She was completely still as the group of dragons came into view. Her eyes widened when she saw Cinniminny among them. Perhaps it would be safe to come out, since she knew one of the dragons in the group...?

No, she decided. Not worth it. She didn't move, and within a few minutes they had walked by.

Letting out a sigh of relief, she turned to exit the bushes and came face to face with the rabbit, still as stone in the leaves. For a moment neither of them moved, then the rabbit jumped up and ran, scattering leaves everywhere.

Olivine sighed and stood up, shaking the twigs from her mane. Looks like she would have to start over.

Caribbean Sea had spotted another dragon in his travels and instantly began to panic. Was this it, was this the end? Was he going to get knocked out right here so soon? Not if he could help it. The shimmering blue dragon did a 180 and began rushing as fast as he could in the opposite direction. In his panic, he whacked his foot on a tree branch and sprained it, but he didn't notice at first. He kept rushing and rushing until he had found his way to a termite mound.

At the termite mound, Caribbean Sea just couldn't keep running. He was injured and needed to treat his ankle, so he stopped to take a rest. While he was bandaging an ice pack from his first aid kit to his foot, two other dragons happened upon the termite mounds. Caribbean's first instinct had been to take off running again, but he knew with his ankle in bad shape that wouldn't be a good idea. He was better off taking his chances with these other two dragons and playing it like he was okay, just tired. If he could team up with them for the night, they could work together to make it through.

They each took turns sleeping in shifts, so Caribbean Sea was able to be fairly well rested, which definitely helped with his ankle. When the morning came, the trio departed or were separated for one reason or another, and Caribbean was on his way solo once more. His ankle was doing better, but naturally a sprain did not heal itself overnight. His first aid kit did, however, help him keep the swelling down so he was able to make full use of the limb. It just hurt a bit more than usual to put pressure on.

As he began traveling under the light of day, Caribbean Sea happened upon a pumpkin patch. This gave him some nostalgia because Pumpkin Pie is one of his absolute favorites. As he was wandering about the pumpkin patch, looking for a square pumpkin, he was approached by another dragon, the same one who had also taken a first aid kit. The dragon offered to team up, and Caribbean Sea knew that with his ankle still healing, it would be a wise decision. Besides, together they had enough first aid supplies to handle anything! Or so he hoped, anyway.

Caribbean Sea offered a smile towards the other dragon, and dipped his head with a nod. "I think that would be a good idea, fellow medic. See any pumpkins you particularly like?" he inquired, "I'm looking for a square one. Reminds me of an old story from back home," he explained, clearly focusing on his happy home memories to keep his spirits up in the stressful hungry games!

Echo does not do mornings. At. All.
Desperately trying to wake up and get moving before someone gets the jump on him. Unconsciously following the sweet scent upon the air, comes across a baking station, complete with edible cinnamon rolls.
Yeah EarthDad needs offerings, but breakfast is the most important meal of the day for a reason!

As he starts to clean his claws, Echo becomes more aware of his surroundings, and and the Wildclaw staring him down.
The resulting argument, (what cinnamon rolls?) escalates. And before the WC gets the jump on him, Echo spots the rolling pin. Hefting it up (oh, marble! Fancy.), he successfully stands his ground.

After cleaning the area and his new weapon, Echo gives into his Earthborne tendencies, and licks the rock.

"A square pumpkin?" Said Damek "That sounds ... odd. I'm not familiar with that story, but I'll let you know if I see any. Personally, I love a bit of roast pumpkin... or pumpkin soup - if we can gather up enough, I'll rustle up some lunch for us both" Hmm Damek's mouth was watering just talking about yummy hot pumpkin goodies... marshmallows didn't really cut it as sustenance.

As the morning passed, Damek and Caribbean Sea chatted companionably, discovering a few things in common, including that, while they were both born in Dragonhome, they had found homes in the Viridian Labyrinth. By the end of the morning, they had a reasonable haul of pumpkins and a good bond. Damek realised this was going to be the hard bit about the Hungry Games - there could be only one winner and that meant at some point one of them would be booted. He just hoped he wouldn't have to do anything horrible to anyone like this new friend to get there. Some of the others, however, seemed ruthless enough to get what they deserved.

Meanwhile, he'd noticed the spiral favoring one foot slightly "Do you need any help with that ankle?"

"Oh that sounds great! I really love Pumpkin Pie. It's a shame we don't have the materials for that out here," he replied, enjoying the friendly chatter with his new friend. Caribbean Sea had learned that his fellow Medic was named Damek and living in the Viridian Labyrinth. He decided that he liked Damek well enough, and hoped that perhaps they could remain friends even after the hungry games! Getting to spend some time feeling normal, feeling like two friends talking, really helped to ease Caribbean Sea's nerves about the whole event. He was even a little bit excited! Maybe he could actually trust Damek and continue working with him? Or perhaps the games would force them to separate, as things never seemed stable for long in these types of events.

When Damek asked about his ankle, Caribbean Sea was pulled from his thoughts. "Huh?" he replied, taking a moment to process the question as he glanced towards his foot that he had been treating for a sprain. "Oh that-" he replied, deciding that Damek could probably already put two and two together, so Caribbean Sea might as well be honest with him. "I think I sprained it. I kept it on ice for the swelling but it's still a bit sore from all the movement. I'll be alright, I'm sure a good pumpkin meal will help me heal up!" he responded cheerfully. Caribbean decided that if he didn't win the hungry games, he hoped that Damek would, or at least come close.
