@Tiffkaboo

Thank you! I am very excited for Banescales!!!

Skullgiest (the owner of Evika's parents) actually found this locke and contacted me saying that they had Gillian's grandparents. When they had another nest, they offered me Evika, and seeing as I love giving characters family connections wherever I can, I took her in!

I miss Zunde too... Sometimes I think about what this locke would be like if he were still alive. There are a surprising amount of things that would have been different. For example, I was planning on making him and Heaven sort of a thing. Honestly, if he hadn't died in the way he had, things probably would have gone very differently for the sisters. His death set off a lot.

I would have loved to see how that worked out! Though I do enjoy how things went when he died, I would I have loved to experience the reverse happeneing.

Do your parents know you're here?" Tiffany exclaimed. The young spiral had hatched to Seaberry and Webb not long ago. Apparently, he had been talking non-stop about the prospect of other hatchlings in the clan, so the wildclaw had a feeling she knew what this visit was about. "Can I play with the baby?" Xander asked, looked very hopeful. "She's a bit young to play right now, and she's down for her nap, but you can come and see her!" Tiffany grinned. "Come on in!" The hatchling looked inside for a moment before deciding to enter. He looked around the room slowly, taking in everything he could as he followed the wildclaw into the nursery. "Here she is. Her name is Yoela," Tiffany said in a hushed tone, gesturing to a cozy looking nest of blankets. Xander excitedly peered in, taking in the length of the imperial, who was already twice as long as the spiral hatchling. "Wow," Xander breathed, wiggling excitedly. He looked back up at Tiffany. "I can't wait to play with her!" "I'm sure the two of you will be great friends," Tiffany grinned. "She'll really enjoy having someone nice like you to play with." The wildclaw felt a pang of sadness. She had never had the chance for a normal childhood, with normal friends. Still, she was happy that her daughter would get that, even if her sister had been taken by the city. Xander was probably feeling pretty lonely after his sister had disappeared. The two may not have had the chance to grow up with siblings, but they would grow up with each other, and that would be enough. Edna asked, stepping into Jett's office. The wildclaw was flipping a gold coin in the air and catching it. Upon seeing the ridgeback's entrance, he caught it one last time, stopping to examine it's gleam before pocketing it. "Yes," Jett grinned. "Kobe tells me that your training is going very well. You are very powerful, which is great, but your power will not be enough." "What do you mean?" Edna spat. "Haven't I been chosen to take down that other multi-element warrior who threatens to destroy everything we've been working for?" "You have, but a time is coming where we will need all the powerful dragons we can get," Jett smirked. "You see, my power is growing stronger. It will reach its height at the dawn of the new year, as the Year of Night begins. It is at that point where the darkness with be at its strongest, and it is then that we must strike. We stand our best chance at claiming the kingdom while everyone else is at their weakest." "What does this have to do with me? Doesn't Katie handle recruitment?" Edna asked, perhaps a little more sharply than she intended. "Recruitment is... difficult," Jett winced. "Loyalty to the crown is strong within the kingdom. The royal family is large, and most of the dragons of the Forgotten Kingdom have strong ties to at least one of them. No, we must raise our own warriors." "And you want me to do that," Edna responded, finally understanding. The idea excited her. "Sort of," Jett snorted. "You will play an integral part, yes. You have abilities beyond any other among our number. That power must be spread. Some time ago, I was able to obtain some of Elladan's elemental magic. I was hoping he would return soon so we could better ensure a brood, but he seems to have gone awol, so we have to make do with what we have." "You want me to have a nest?" Edna snorted. "Seriously, have you met me? I should be continuing to hone my skills, not be stuck raising hatchlings!" "Your bloodline is powerful, and its possible that your abilities could pass on to your offspring. They will make powerful warriors. You will not be raising them alone. Scoril has experience raising children, and we will all work to train them to their fullest potential. We'll want to start as early as possible to prepare them for the Year of Night." Jett said, eyes narrowed. "We all must play our part in making the Black Market stronger. I'm not putting you on the back seat, I'm imply asking you to donate some of your genetic makeup another generation." "Fine," Edna huffed. She knew there was no arguing with Jett. "Where do I find this elemental magic of Elladan's?" "Frederick has it," Jett explained. "I gave it to him for safe-keeping, seeing as he is trying to figure out how to harness his alchemy to create and enhance life. To my knowledge, he has not yet drained his supply." "Right," Edna growled. She was not fond of the bogsneak. He had been one of the few dragons Katie had managed to recruit, and he gave her the creeps. He was overly invested in her elemental abilities, and looked at her like she was one of his experiments, like he couldn't wait to get his hands on her. Still, no one dared disobey the king, so she figured there was no point in delaying the inevitable. Giving Jett the best regards she could in her current mood, she left his office and made her way over to the alchemy lab. It was just down the street in a dingy building. It was more run-down than most within the Black Market, which Edna supposed made the bogsneak feel more at home. He was a rather slimy fellow. Taking a deep breath, she stepped inside. The hooded dragon was pouring over a large cauldron, the glow of the gunk inside reflecting eerily on his face. It gave Edna the shivers. "Hello?" She said, making her presence known. "Ah, Edna! Jett said he'd be sending you by," Frederick's tongue flicked in interest. "I have Elladan's magic. Let me just get it for you." While the bogsneak shuffled into an overly crowded supply closet, Edna had the chance to have a proper look around. Frederick's experiments were truly unsettling. He had live lumps of gunk moving around in glass jars, looking for some way to escape their bounds. Strange smells rose from all around the chamber, and Edna wasn't sure she wanted to know where they were all coming from. "Here it is, dearie," Frederick said in a sickeningly sweet voice as he returned, reaching up on his hind legs to hand the jar to Edna. She took it from him, ignoring the sticky feeling of his hands, and examined the contents. Water magic swirled inside, defying all laws of gravity. Upon touching the jar, she felt her own magic rise to meet it, though she had to restrain herself. If she let it out now, there would be a long wait until she would restore enough to make eggs. "Thank you," Edna responded, quickly moving to leave. "I know we've already discussed this at length, but are you certain that you don't want to donate any of your own splendid magic to my experimentation?" Frederick asked. "I'm sure," Edna said, curtly. She made her way out of the building, ignoring the bogsneak's crestfallen face and ducking under a wooden beam. Edna didn't open the jar until she returned to her room. Thankfully, Yellan was out, probably training or spending time with Kael. While she still had her privacy, she twisted off the metal lid, letting the water magic fly free. It circled the air around her, bringing with it the salty scent of sea air. It seemed drawn to her, and Edna felt her own magic well up again. This time, she did not restrain it. In multiple bursts of different elemental magic, the two magics combined, swirling around each other in some sort of frenzied dance until the two were indistinguishable from each other. The circles grew tighter until they took the form of three eggs. They shapes appeared neautral and translucent at first, the dragon within not yet formed, until the eggs took on the darkness of the shadow flight, glowing with the same glow as the mushrooms of the Tangled Wood. The deed was done. Edna had done as Jett had asked. Whatever happened next was not in her hands. ----- Next ----- @CleverDual @HauntedWhale @Disillusionist @AlchemyFox @Tirtouga678 @catmeow1 @Leopardmask @Midwinter @chantric @Dynami @ShinyDecidueye @tigressRising @FallenEclipse @Stitched @Willnotgogently @Sabariel @MisterMylez @Skystrider @Starongie @icetail0912 @myriadofstars @Aetherstorm @Weredogalism @Nargeorgicorn @WeaverofLies @herobrinna @secretlylying @Azurepocalypse @GoldictheHedgefx @CobaltMoon @Tiffkaboo @Orodruin @SkullGeist @Violeteevee @Amaluna @DragonPrincess27 @Dakala ----- I don't know what it is about the E generation, but it feels as though Edna got off her cooldown a lot faster than the previous generations. Of course, her father is a nocturne, and I didn't get an apparel pull until a week or two after he came off of his cooldown, but still. I am excited though. My F gen is already on its way! Yoela's sister has already been claimed by CleverDual, but Xander's sister is still up for grabs if anyone wants her: Her colours remind me so much of Neveah, even though she shares no relation to her. It's a shame I couldn't keep her, but maybe it's not a bad thing that I didn't have more new dragons this update.

"She needs a name," Gillian piped up from behind, where he walked alongside his aunt.

Jett should name her, Elladan thought to himself, but he restrained himself from making any comments. He knew Gillian had clashed with the Black Market in the past, and would not take kindly to learning of his plans for the child. So, once more, the ridgeback held his tongue.

Let me just get it for you."

While the bogsneak shuffled into an overly crowded supply closet, Edna had the chance to have a proper look around.

I don't know what it is about the E generation, but it feels as though Edna got off her cooldown a lot faster than the previous generations. Of course, her father is a nocturne, and I didn't get an apparel pull until a week or two after he came off of his cooldown, but still. I am excited though. My F gen is already on its way!

Yoela's sister has already been claimed by CleverDual, but Xander's sister is still up for grabs if anyone wants her:

Her colours remind me so much of Neveah, even though she shares no relation to her. It's a shame I couldn't keep her, but maybe it's not a bad thing that I didn't have more new dragons this update.

Pinkerlocke? Not now, but one day...
@Petall I lol'd so hard at the opening of this chapter, particularly since Elladan's final thoughts last time were along the lines of "Oh poop, I hope it doesn't hatch." Ngl, Elladan's becoming a favorite. He's just so relatable. xDD And then EVEN MOAR BABBIESS [emoji=bogsneak star] Omg, they're all so cute! Although, uh, Jett is interested in raising some for very, very bad reasons. Especially with Frederick on his team. I absolutely adore how you explained Edna's nest with Elladan, however. I was wondering how the two of them would end up together and expected some sort of whirlwind romance, but this is way better and more interesting!

@MisterMylez

He is a bit of a slimeball, isn't he?

@Disillusionist

I am so glad that you are enjoying Elladan, he's so much fun to write!!!

Originally, I was sort of planning to write some sort of a whirlwind romance, if not now than sometime after the nest, but then he met Luci and now I'm not sure who I ship him with. We'll have to see where this story brings these characters. He's certainly going to be in for a shock when he gets home.
The wildclaw was flipping a gold coin in the air and catching it. Upon seeing the ridgeback's entrance, he caught it one last time, stopping to examine it's gleam before pocketing it.
what an absolutely cliche evil genius thing to do, I love it Also it's neat how you dressed Frederick to look so creepy. With that nice pastel Poison he'd probably look quite sweet without the dark clothing, but as it is the pastel just makes him even,,, worse. also also WOW Xander is cute. That particular family tree seems to have a propensity for super fun bright Ghost, doesn't it?

@Leopardmask

I can't remember the number of times I've written him doing that, but I can't not anymore. It's his thing.

Thank you!

Yeah, it's wonderful! I love how ghost passes on, it looks so good!
