TOPIC | [Pinkerlocke] - All That Was Lost

Yeah, that was the intention. In Windkeep Tower, I felt a lot of the relationships were clean-cut and drama free, especially the established romantic ones, and while I enjoy that, I wanted to explore a few 'unconventional' family structures to better reflect reality. So I wanted to explore Cecily and Bahat working together to raise kids even though they aren't a couple, that's why I was so set on breaking the rules. That's why I have Seaberry single-moming it up with siblings with different fathers, and why Lucian and Bohrium are adopted. It's why Coldstorm was raised without Bailaduel, but still with the support of a large and loving family. Family has always been an important theme to me in all of my stories, and so I wanted to explore the different strengths and realities of different familial structures. (Flight rising really helps with that too because how often does someone get to be raised alongside their half-uncles?)
-"Hey, by the way, my dad wants to come along. You know, the one who's wife you almost killed?"
-"Yeah, sure, why not?"
-"Also, what's your level? One? We're going in the Woodland Path~ Good luck!"

I'm excited to get them on the same page too! Also, as of tomorrow, Dusk is RTB so literally the next time I get an apparel pull, they need to be nest ready, because regardless of where they are at in their lore I am putting them on! I want my E generation!
I know! It's probably my favourite fest apparel yet! Which is awesome, because usually I'm not a big fan of the plague aesthetic (though the themes of plague fascinate me so much, I keep coming back to them! Like with Plagueheart and Pennar in the Stories of Windkeep Tower, and then while exploring Bailaduel and Canarelli's worldviews! Dusk too is also very much proud of his plague heritage. His mama taught him well!)

@Petall That's a good point! There was still a lot of drama in Windkeep, but most of it seemed to be from external sources (like Quartz barging in) rather than internal ones. I think you're doing a great job mixing up the family dynamics here -- and agreed, keeping track of relationships can be a pain, but FR makes it fun. xD

Cecily served Gillian and Blackwolf their drinks. The two dragons had seemed significantly more dejected since Violet's disappearance, but they never gave any indication as to why. Still, they were regular customers, and Cecily was always happy to see them. They seemed concerned about her break-up with Bahat as well, which was very nice considering all that had gone down at the Rot Ball. Most dragons didn't offer that same kindness.
After she had dropped off their order, she whirled back in the kitchen to pick up something for Bonegnasher and his friends. However, she was stopped by her mother.

"Gone," Cecily admitted. "The city took them."
Bahat nodded. "Bone lost on in his last nest too. Cedric and Caroll had a sister."
"Dusk too," Cecily reminded him.
"I hope their safe out there," Bahat sighed.
"Me too," Cecily admitted. "But we have Clarissa."
"We have Clarissa," Bahat agreed. "Gosh, she's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!"
And in that moment, Cecily thought her heart would break. But she didn't let it.

Sorry for being so AWOL after that cliffhanger. I've had a bit of a week, and I completely lost motivation and inspiration until today. (I didn't even give Clarissa her song until today!) I really wanted to write more, but then I started watching Netflix with my parents and I only had time for the one scene. With any luck, we'll get back to the tunnel crew tomorrow...

Sorry for being so AWOL after that cliffhanger. I've had a bit of a week, and I completely lost motivation and inspiration until today. (I didn't even give Clarissa her song until today!)
