I'm sad I haven't had more guardians in my lore because they really are one of my favourite breeds in terms of lore possibilities. I'm always curious about the situations that can arise from different guardian/charge relationships. Hopefully I can do more with that if Hackett passes on his breed in my alphabet legacy challenge.

Seaberry is building up quite the staff within her family to help run the tavern! XD

Oh yeah, Jett has just lost a very powerful ally.

It does come off a bit sketchy, especially if you know that there are dragons who are trying to kill you.

It's a really interesting situation that I've never really had to think about because in my other clans, there have been so many dragons coming and going so any new dragon breeds they'd stumble across would actually be new dragon breeds. I like how you've handled it!

Yeah, I figured that could get cliche real fast. I needed a way to get Scoril out, but she's too loyal to Jett to leave on her own free will.

@Petall Scoril, you should have taken the kids and left Jett a long, long time ago. I seriously love Scoril, and from the start I wished she was on the good side.

I'd love to have Xuxa's sister and give her a good home!

I... wow... pretty intense. Poor Hackett, his charge doesn't seem to be too enthusiastic to have met him. And AAAAA Xuxa is so pretty! Does this mean Webb and Seaberry have... uh... patched up their relationship? From the time he walked in on Jett and Seaberry?

And also. Scoril, wow. I guess Jett must've fallen out with her in his mind far earlier than any of us realised, but it's good that he still blindly trusts Kass, at least. Has Scoril completely lost her magic or is it just her grief :O either way, poor girl.

I think Kestrel has a lot to be cautious of right now. Also, yeah, Webb basically raised Kaori as his own. He's forgiven Seaberry, and they are back to being a happy little couple.

Yeah, Scoril's had a rough go, but she's on the right path now. And as for her magic... that's not for me to reveal right now, you'll have to wait and see!

I've been looking for an out for a while, but I don't trust that my father won't come looking for me the second I disappear. Could I sneak out with you?" Immediately, Scoril was filled with an intense conflict. On one hand, Kestrel was the last dragon she wanted as company when she made her great escape. On the other hand, losing one of his children would be a huge blow to Jett, and a great way to get back at him. "Please," Kestrel's eyes were wide with desperation. "I can't stand the training my father gives me. He pushes me so hard, and he doesn't let me do anything. He's always displeased with me, for one reason or another. And after our training sessions, I get so weak that it's difficult to resist the Shade trying to take me over." The spiral's thin body as beginning to shake. "I don't know how much more I can take. You're my only chance of getting out of here." Somewhere within Scoril, something cracked. She was so vulnerable, just as she had been when she arrived in the city as a hatchling with uncontrollable magic. And, just like her, Jett had failed to show up for Kestrel in the way that she needed it. "Fine," Scoril snapped. "As long as you don't annoy me too much." "I'll see what I can do. I'm less trained than Ragna is on the subject," Ulf admitted. "She's a little sensitive right now. We just had a hatchling and she's scared of him being Shade-touched." "Congratulations," Lester's eyes widened before turning his attention back to his kids. "So what do we do?" "Sometimes the Shade lies dormant for a while, you may have time. When they're older, we can train them to control it, but in the meantime, you just need to keep an eye on them and try to not let the Shade get too much of a hold on them," Ulf explained. "I'm sorry I can't be much help, there's not really much we can do in this situation." "Thank you anyways," Lester sighed. "If their condition worsens, let me know. I'll come and see what I can do to help," Ulf offered. "Thank you," Amity said. "We won't forget this." Ulf watched them go, his heart aching for the couple. If only he had completed his training, he could be more help to them. But he was left feeling as useless as ever. What kind of gaoler was he if he was powerless against the Shade? Kobe slid out of the way, but felt the heat of the bolt on the edges of his wings. He was getting closer. "How about you try this on for size!" Kobe exclaimed, shooting a bolt of shadow magic at him. At that moment, Dellenger retaliated with a bolt of his own magic. The two combined into an explosion of blinding light and dark shadows. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust after the blast, but when they did, all that was sitting on the floor of the training room was a singed cowboy hat. Dellenger was nowhere to be seen. Kobe swore. His father was going to kill him for killing his heir. Dellenger was really not as strong as he seemed. Oh my gosh, this is so riveting!! Poor Dellenger. I'm intrigued about Kobe, though. I haven't reached the part about him yet! This is really interesting, I'm loving it :D

Thank you! And yeah... Kobe hasn't actually appeared too frequently, but he's fun when he does show up!

@Petall What a wild ride! Poor Dellenger... And ooh, the gaoler kiddos are adorable!! And so are Amity and Lester's kids!
(though the shade touched rather scares me about them. Seems that Lester was a carrier, even if he didn't have the power himself.)

I love that the boyos are twins except for their tert colors. X) I would love to take in the obsidian boy, and if no one takes in his brother by the time he is grown, I will take him as well, please!
