Quests & Challenges

This idea/ form of the two challenges (Legacy of War and Pinkerlocke) was created by fenshae ------- Time for a new challenge since my breeding projects are dwindling down. Here are the rules I'll be going by: [quote=War rules] [LIST] [*]The starter dragon is the cheapest triple-basic common breed on the auction house. [*]The starter dragon's mate needs to cost less than 10k and must be purchased for this purpose. [*]The heir is chosen via coliseum - the last dragon standing survives to carry on the genes. [*]The mate for the heir can cost 10k more than the last generation's mate. [*]The final heir must be triple-gened, a rare breed and pleasing to look at. [*]The heir and the mate cannot be scried together prior to buying the mate, but scries of the heir to inspect color ranges and speculative gene combinations are OK. Once the mate is purchased, they can be scried all you want. [/LIST][/quote] Once the nest is born and the heir determined the parents will join the Pinkerlocke. After the heir is bred the same thing will happen and form a sort of cycle. The locke itself will be played in MEDIUM mode. Whichever venue they start in, they stay in for that day regardless of levels gained. Ending battle streak, fleeing battle and using potions is fine, refreshing the coli is not. [b]Drops of Fate[/b] [u]Food:[/u] Coli time! [indent] - Plants = 10-20 matches - Insects = 20-30 matches - Seafood = 30-40 matches - Meat = 40-50 matches [/indent] [b]Materials:[/b] Writing Write some lore for the 'locke dragons, update profiles or obtain art for them. This lore is in addition to the stuff written for the Legacy challenge. [b]Trinkets:[/b] Mass-chest opening! Any chests you have, whether sourced from the challenge dragons or not, can be opened. [b]Battle Items:[/b] Death Streak! Flip a coin. Heads = Nothing happens Tails = Death Streak RNG a coli team and play 10 consecutive rounds OR until a dragon dies. Potions are OK, retreat is not! [b]Apparel:[/b] Breed two of your dragons. The dragons you pick are up to you. [b]Familiar:[/b] Buy something nice for yourself. EITHER a dragon can be purchased to add to the 'locke, OR a gene can be purchased for use on a dragon when their level reaches the appropriate level. [b]Financial Rules:[/b] Basically only the money made in the locke may be used by the lock dragons. All other money is either stored in the vault or logged separately by the player. They were few compared to the number in the main camp but still just as capable of defending their land. However, he wasn't sure all of them fit into this camp. His gaze fell on those near the edges of the camp. What to do with them though...? He was only second in command so he couldn't just banish them without consulting Cerberus, the clan leader. Lucifi's claws dug into the ground slightly before he stood up. Dragons in his camp wouldn't be caught sitting around doing nothing with themselves. They'd need to prove their worth, their power, here... and he was sure he knew just the thing to do... The "Prince of the Clan" stepped down from his ledge made from the large skeleton of some unknown, forgotten creature and began walking across the camp towards the small cluster. His Royal Guard was at his side in seconds, loyally following him despite the lack of danger he'd meet here. Clearly they could sense Lucifi was about to do something important as well. "I don't believe I caught your ranks and jobs." He tilted his head up at the larger dragons and awaited their answer calmly, already knowing what they'd say. It was the imperial Eurfryn who answered. "I am... the newest beast tamer... and this is my son and his mo-" "You were never made the official successor to Ramil if the scribes information is correct." Azoth, a basic fae, chimed in unhelpfully in Eurfryn's favor. Lucifi smiled, seemingly content and okay with the answer but the dragons in front of him were still tensed. "Eurfryn... I will make you the official beast tamer- but- you must prove to me you can do it." "Of course!" The dark blue male nodded as his hatchling played between his front paws, oblivious to the situation. "Good." He glanced at the other two; a coatl and bogsneak without jobs. "You two will be joining him. Perhaps you'll find a place in this clan that way." "We'd love the chance, thank you." Brindisi, the coatl, hummed; her accent clearly showing in her draconic. They wouldn't be so thankful soon enough... but he wasn't about to tell them everything. "Excellent. Vespil, show them to their new den." The grey imperial broke away from the other two guards, leading the three dragons away. Lucifi glanced back at Azoth. The fae wasn't much... but perhaps would have some potential... "Azoth, I'm not done yet." "Y-yes?" His purple and black frills fluttered nervously. "You are of great use to the clan. It would be a shame to waste that... I want you to spread that potential to your hatchlings. Prove to the clan, to me, that you and the strongest of them, can reveal that potential." "Anything for you, Lucifi." The fae was guided away Lucifi's other guard, Thanatos, to a separate den for further explanation. Lucifi turned to look at his remaining guard, a wildclaw named SineSensu. "This must not reach word to Cerberus, understand. He'll think I'm trying to overthrow him." "Aren't you? The prophecy stated-" "Prophecies aren't always correct." The smile on his face suggested otherwise, however his Royal Guard had been hand picked. Lucifi knew he could trust them to keep the Clan of Death's leader from hearing of this. Lucifi glanced down at the now scared imperial hatchling before giving SineSensu a signal to take the hatchling and follow him. The small thing would be useful in keeping the others in check after they were fully informed. [/color] [/center]

Despite his name, he really isn't that bad of a guy. She's gentle and while she has a size advantage and still has claws and teeth I (Lucifi) question how well she can actually use them. Time will tell I suppose. Alright! This should be good to go now! Pinkerlocke will start tomorrow (as of this post) and the Legacy of War part will start once Azoth is rtb!

[center][b]Day 1:[/b] [item=Deepsea Cucumber] So 30-40 coli matches off the bat! Geez Pinkerton wants us to get straight to the fighting I guess.[/center] [center] Finished at 34 battles. Eurfryn, Brindisi, and Pomaria are all at level 4. ------------ It had been tough right off the bat for the three dragons. Brindisi was the main target of the enemies and was nearly killed on multiple occasions before being aided by Pomaria's potions. Still, the bogsneak didn't do much to help otherwise. Eurfryn was furious at her and the ease at which their opponents would dodge them. For him, saying it was a rocky start was an understatement. Even he nearly lost his life in the fighting just because he'd been the one pulling the team along- against mostly the darn bogsneak. Eurfryn had never seen one so lazy before. But they had pulled through and gotten stronger. Eventually all of them began to pull their weight a little more equally, though clearly Brindisi and Eurfryn were the two leads for the attacks while Pomaria sat in the defense. Perhaps they could make it through these trials together...

This will kill everyone before the lore can even kick off.[/s] After 44 battles we are all at level 5! --------------------- Eurfryn was greatly relieved this time despite the increase in battles the three had to do. While he and Brindisi still did the most work, Pomaria at least stayed out of their way. Sure, he still didn't quite like the bogsneak but her guard did prove helpful to her while getting her breath and her slashes came to their aid occasionally. After they were done it was almost like they were indeed coming together as a team. A strange team sure but one bound to each other and sharing the goal of proving themselves to Lucifi by getting through these trials alive. [/center]
