After that, I choose. If any of the remaining offspring are of interest to the gifter, they may ask for them =D

I did some scrying and I gotta say - Yes, please! There are some really neat hatchling possibilities =D
Though I´m kinda sad to most likely loose the gem genes, but well... Rarity of genes isn´t everything!
