@Krycelli, oh, thanks so much, this has been so fun! I hope you get enough rest, you deserve it!

Also quick question, I thought I chose the Guardians option, not the "chase the Nocturne" option... maybe I'm wrong, I just really had it in my head that I had picked that. If I didn't, then that's fine! I just wanted to be sure before I answered.

@Xarina Urg, it also looks like I recorded your entry down mistakenly, so sorry about that! Yes, you should be on 7G instead:
https://goo.gl/forms/wjFy0jQ5YXYAPkQy2
And thank you! It was a good rest, it felt great waking up after a full night's rest. It's been a ton of fun hosting this and seeing everyone's responses, but I'll be glad to get back to my usual low-key level of playing after Wavecrest.

@Krycelli Hi! I noticed that I haven't had a ping yet for today (the last day's) adventure. I'm sure I submitted the form yesterday, from this post, but I was on mobile so I don't know for sure if it went through.

I chose the answer:

"(F7) Alert a pair of Guardians standing watch, they’ll know what to do."

I hope it's okay if I pinged you here. Sorry if this ping is just before you were going to post the next prompt! ^^;

Edit: I just checked the spreadsheet and can't find my information either. :c

With two Guardians and the gondolier, one wrong move would have them dumped in the canal. He cast a side-long look at Delenn with her expensive silks and jewelry, not to mention the armor he had donned this morning out of habit than any real necessity. Well, claws crossed that they would avoid any serious mishaps. Delenn led the way, with Seacrest a step behind as proper for an escort. With her attention directed elsewhere as she decided which gondola to take, Seacrest stole the rare moment to look his fill, knowing he might not get another chance. Delenn was...breathtaking. By color standards alone she was a cut above the rest. Born with three gem genes, and naturally complementing colors, Delenn could have her pick of mates. The Storm Iridescent reminded him of the sea at rest, in that still moment where each wave was barely a ripple. The blue deepened along the line of her chest scales to a darker purple tone that swept down her hind-legs in a soft shade of pink, a perfect compliment for the Blackberry Shimmer of her wings. Her tertiary was another shade of blue, a lighter shade of Splash that had taken the form of the rare Circuit. With her mother’s Treasure gene, Delenn had had a one in hundred chance of being born with Circuit. The rest of her clutch had inherited their mother’s Lace, but not Delenn. The blue silks she wore rippled and danced over her shimmering hide as she walked, the golden beads quietly clicking against her scales. She stepped lightly, with a fluid grace that made him wonder how it would translate on the battlefield. He did not know if she intended to learn any combat skills, as the Heir Apparent she would be expected to fulfill a different role than himself. “Which gondola do you want to take?” Seacrest was jolted out of his quiet perusal by Delenn’s question, and to his horror he looked up to find her watching him. He silently prayed for the Earth to open up and swallow him, the Sea would want nothing to do with him. When that didn’t happen he said, “I have no preference. It is your decision.” Delenn continued to watch him for several moments that stretched until Seacrest had to struggle not to fidget beneath the weight of her gaze. Nearly fifty generations separated them. And yet for all his experience, the wars he had survived and the battles he had commanded, there was no doubt as to which dragon held the upper hand in this moment. “Yes,” Delenn eventually agreed. “It is, isn’t it?” She turned and strode towards a gondola where a Pearlcatcher waited for her next customers. Seacrest followed in her wake, confused and restless because of it. He braced a foot on the edge of the gondola as Delenn boarded to keep the rocking to a minimum. Once he had boarded as well the gondolier waited a moment to give them a chance to get settled before greeting them. “Welcome to Levitos on this grand occasion, the Wavecrest Saturnalia. My name is Silvia, and I will be showing you the wonders of our fair city.” She started to pole the boat forward, the sudden motion startling a small cloud of pixies into the air around her. “If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me. That is why you’re here after all.” Seacrest started to relax the moment the boat coasted forward. The quiet ripples of the water beneath them as Silvia propelled the boat forward, the short splash each time the oar left the water, it all served to help him be a little more at ease. And if with every breath Delenn brushed against him with the edge of her wing or flank, well, it was a small boat. For the first part of the tour Silvia guided the boat through the Cannaregio District, where she explained the history that draped the grand architecture of each building as surely as the seaweed that had been swept up by the city’s rise. Having seen it all before, Seacrest could not help but get swept up in the steady weave of history and tall tale that Silvia fashioned for them, occasionally dropping a wry observation that would have Delenn throw her head back with laughter. Silvia was in the midst of telling them about the three great failures of the Conchorde Bridge, managing a blend of humor and grim acknowledgement of the costs, when the boat passed close to the side of the canal. Still listening to Silvia’s explanation, Seacrest caught a flash of movement out of the corner of his eye. Someone reaching out as light glinted off an object in their hand…. Instinct had Seacrest spinning to face the threat with a low snarl. Both wings snapped out, one to shield Delenn, the other to provide partial cover to Silvia where she was perched on the stern, both hands gripping the oar. The Skydancer flinched back and clutched the necklace he’d been holding out against his chest. “I’m sorry,” the dragon said, breathless. “I just wanted her to see this. It would look perfect against her blue hide.” Slowly folding back his wings, Seacrest did not look at Delenn. He wasn’t ashamed of himself, exactly. He was an enforcer, it was his job to attack and defend those in his charge at all costs, be they his clan or a clan guest. But at least to himself, Seacrest had to acknowledge that his response might not have been quite so vicious if it hadn’t involved Delenn. This, whatever it was, was getting out of hand. “My apologies,” Seacrest offered in a stiff tone to the Skydancer. He shifted position so the artist could offer the necklace. The Skydancer looked hesitant, clearly uncertain if Seacrest was sincere. The matter was solved when Delenn reached out. “May I?” “Yes, of course, my lady.” Bobbing a short bow, the Skydancer handed over the necklace. Seacrest couldn’t see Delenn’s expression as she considered the necklace, instead staring hard at the surrounding buildings. He could see Silvia’s expression however, and the Pearlcatcher looked appreciative. “This is indeed a splendid work of craftsmanship. It does not run to my particular tastes, otherwise I would purchase this in a heartbeat.” Delenn offered the necklace back, the stones glittering in the warm sun where it cast down between the sea-soaked buildings. “I have no doubt you will find another buyer for it before this day is out.” Even denied a sale, the Skydancer’s face fairly glowed beneath Delenn’s praise. He waved after them as they continued their journey down the canal. Silvia continued her story, picking up the dropped rhythm as if she had paused for breath rather than been interrupted by a possible fight. The earlier lassitude Seacrest had attained was gone, however. Instead he felt ungainly on this slender craft with his charge, who had proven graceful in body and in her way with words. Truly, sometimes he wondered why Meridian ever trusted him outside of the clan beyond the Coliseum.

Day 2

When Seacrest and Delenn found the starting point for the gondola tour, Seacrest took one look at the flimsy looking crafts and only just contained his sigh.

She stepped lightly, with a fluid grace that made him wonder how it would translate on the battlefield. He did not know if she intended to learn any combat skills, as the Heir Apparent she would be expected to fulfill a different role than himself.
“Which gondola do you want to take?”

Seacrest was jolted out of his quiet perusal by Delenn’s question, and to his horror he looked up to find her watching him. He silently prayed for the Earth to open up and swallow him, the Sea would want nothing to do with him. When that didn’t happen he said, “I have no preference. It is your decision.”

Delenn continued to watch him for several moments that stretched until Seacrest had to struggle not to fidget beneath the weight of her gaze. Nearly fifty generations separated them.
