You ever have these dragons modeled off of two characters you really love, but find yourself unsure of breeding them due to the permanent and visible changes caused by such an event? Not gonna lie, I have two dragons right now I'm in that exact boat with.. They are the characters I ship together, so its not like its something where I'm worried about them not making sense lorewise. It's just a matter of not being sure that I want them to have listed offspring. Any of you guys ever get in this sort of situation?
I used to do the whole gen one thing, but at some point it gets a bit tiring having to do so much for what turns out to be just another face in your lair. So it isnt the listed parents part that bugs me lol

Yeah I also have thought about breeding my fandragons, especially those who actually have kids. But it would anger me, imagine, this fandragon has two kids and he ends up having a nest of 4 [emoji=skull size=1]
And actually, same here, G1 geneing isnt worth it at all. I might do it for special dates but thats about it. Im so much happier with my lair since I stopped focusing on G1s!

personally i stopped caring about that. i kind of cared about lineage making sense, but eventually it became such a minor thing that sometimes i get surprised when i realize some dragons are offsprings of my other dragons. i look at offspeing lists THAT rarely lol. so it extended to my fandragons too. if they dont result in a nice breeding i won't breed them, but if they do it's nest time.
it feels freeing just doing whatever and disregarding whatever you don't want canon as not canon and call it a day. what the offspring list gonna do? bully me? i'd like to see it try.

i mean i dont breed my fandragons even if theyre lore-partnered with another [if that makes sense] but if you did id suggest you to name the kids something like 'none' or if you plan on breeding repetitively, name each a reference or quote in order :p [so it shows up as -this -isa -reference down the list]

If you ship them, and there's no concern about it not matching lore-wise, I'd say go for it!
(Also, to each their own, but personally I'd be really bothered about having "none" or "this" "isa" "reference" in offspring lists of my lore dragons. Each kid is canon and needs to be individually named, for me.)

The answer is always yes.
I mean, to me it is. It's way more fun. I like breeding too much.
Even if they aren't characters I ship. I ended up breeding a Warehouse 13 fandragon with a Stargate fandragon and like. I mean, crossovers are incredibly fun to me, so that helps.

I love fan dragons, I'm slowly piling on them and I don't have enough tabs! Two of my fan dragons for Madness Combat are hatchlings of someone else's fan dragons of two main, cannon characters. I love them very much.
If you personally don't want to keep the fan dragon hatchlings, but would love to see them get homes of interested parties, it's always an option to sell or trade them off!
(not trying to self promote but my sig has one of these places ran by me, it's not very active though as "fan dragon hatchlings" is niche)

My only issue is i can't pick the number or gender of the kids haha, but I have considered for a pair that are married in their original media.

Breeding is one of the things I enjoy playing with the most and I have mile-long offspring lists and multigenerational families in my lair, so uh. I can't give you an unbiased answer, but I can tell you that my answer is "breed them if you really want to"

hey look that’s me
ahem anyways. as you can clearly guess i’m gonna say go for it. you can always say the hatchlings aren’t canon, because that’s sure what i’m doing in my lore. in the end though it’s up to you. does it spark more joy to get hatchlings from your ship or nah.
but yeah. lorewise, canon is whatever you so wish it to be; aestheticwise, this is a question only you can answer.
