Not sure if this counts but I cannot draw vent art to process emotions/thoughts. I've tried many times but every single time my laptop/art software has crashed and become unusable. Moment I gave up or went to draw something other than vent art, I had no problem with the tech/art software. The strange thing is I can write vent fic no problem.

The other strange one is when I had to use my old Win10 laptop, I had to print off flight/hotel info, travel documents and contract agreements for work I'm supposed to travel with (context: I did a stint of lifeguarding on cruise ships). My old workplace wasn't exactly reliable at sending these documents out in good time, there have been a few times I've just shown up to the airport and hoped I was actually booked on a flight because they just never sent the docs even if I chased it so I'd frequently be printing this stuff off the day before traveling.

This Win10 laptop was the only laptop I had that would connect to the printer I had at the time (I still ran my Win8 for daily use but it was too old to accept the printer drivers). I knew that large updates tended to roll out right before I was due to join a ship for work so once the updates had been released, I'd boot my laptop and force it to search for updates every day until the day I was meant to travel. It always refused to find these updates. But the day before or the day I was due to travel when I finally got the travel documents of course is the time it decides it has a super important update and cannot be used for 12+ hours in order to install it. This happened at least 5 times and way too reliably for it to be a by-chance thing. Eventually, that laptop died and refused to boot again because the updates broke it for good. It's part of why I refused to get another Windows laptop once I needed to replace my Win8 machine.

at like 10 years old i tried to install this movie maker-type app that i loved onto my uncle's computer. it wouldn't start and apparently EVERY PART had to be replaced INCLUDING THE SCREEN. what the hell did i do? sorry uncle.

another time my brother and i beat ducklife 4 and left the computer on overnight, which somehow fried it. found that out when my mom started yelling at me while i was in the shower because she needed to do her work... (we fixed it pretty soon after but sorry mom, i know you needed that computer)

i used to so bad with computers, man. i have since learned my lesson and pass my computer to my man who studies computer science whenever i have an issue.

i find it weird how many times my phone has tumbled all the way down a flight of stairs without a scratch, yet it falls out of my pocket while sitting in a chair once and it cracks the whole corner of the screen

one time i was opening up model files for an old project i used to work on and sharing them over discord vc so my friends and i could laugh at how bad they were. i opened up a giant 90k tri bird with 4 copies of its model in a .rbxl file. my discord crashed. my computer crashed. my monitor wouldn't turn on. 4 hours of fiddling with cables and safemode later, i rejoined the call and we agreed never to open the file again

not really broken but definitely strange: so a long time ago we had an obscure streaming device called a Roku, and it was just idling in between watching stuff, and suddenly the screen changed into casting some stranger's twitter timeline being scrolled down.

I can't remember if it was the same streaming device or the fault of the site we were streaming from, but there was also a show that was uploaded so badly the footage would gradually speed up as you went

and this isn't really hardware-related but lately I've noticed that mobile discord has no more navigation buttons anywhere, at least for me. I can't access my full friend list at all anymore, at least not on mobile. Account settings buttons and stuff are gone too.
(also always thought it was weird that regular display names just Don't Exist on mobile and are only on browser discord, but that's more of an opinion on design than a tech issue)

Not really "strange", but very specific: For one of my family computers' keyboards, I managed to break the S-Z-X-keys since I played a lot of Godzilla Daikaiju Battle Royale. Those were the controls to do attacks, and naturally, mashing them was optimal. Oops.

The old phone I had would randomly turn off when it had between 60% and 30% of battery, and when I turned it on it would say it had 1%, sometimes it would have like 20% and I could use it a bit more

One day I was in call with a friend playing UNO and I wasn't looking at the battery but it randomly turned off, I turned it back on and I had 20 something of battery so I returned to the call and the game, but it turned off again after a few minutes. So I turned it back on (because I just can't learn my lesson) and, again, it showed me that it still a bit of battery left! so I return to the call and the game, only a few seconds later the screen froze, half of it was covered in giltches like when a TV had no signal, and it made the LOUDEST screech ever through the speaker. I got so scared I covered my head with the pillow but I noticed the sound wasn't stopping and it was like 2-3AM and the only thing I could do was take the battery out.

I did turn it on again just to tell my friend that I was going to sleep because I wasn't going to risk that happening again AHHSHD right now that phone's battery is so fried the phone doesn't turn on at all, rest in piece samsung galaxy J7

in my house im dubbed the tech anti-christ because as SOON as i go near anything it just BREAKS. its insane. left my phone off the charger one night (it was still fully charged!!) and it just wouldnt turn on for an entire day until my dad got home. ive heard random xbox sounds from my tv while watching wendigoon??? and my phone has once also given me a popup very briefly that said "Oops! Something goofed!" while i was on discord aND ITS NEVER HAPPENED AGAIN. IM BAFFLED.
