I mostly just watch scary games, and for the most part, most scary games don't phase me anymore. But holy crap, Dark Wood scared the crap out of me.

New trailer dropped.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMvrMTmuJuA

I was actually genuinely worried about how they'd handle the Eddie scenes, but if anything, they seem to have made him somehow worse but in a GOOD way, if that makes sense?

To me, even when he goes off the deep end, Eddie seemed like he was...a comedic character. He was so over the top, the only time I actually felt unnerved by him was the cutscene in the hospital because that was the only time he looked, to me, truly unhinged. Even in his bossfight, he felt...like he was trying to hard to appear dangerous.

But THIS Eddie? This Eddie isn't comedic in the slightest. This isn't an Eddie who is comedic, this is Eddie looks...hollow, dead inside, even as he's laughing, and that scares me. Even in the bits of toilet scene we see, he's not funny at all, he just looks....pathetic.

Tbh, I'm starting to feel...tentatively? hopeful about this game, but I'm still going to wait for the full release before I give full judgement. I do know one thing, though: I am actually looking forward to seeing how they deliver the rest of his scenes, because something tells me they are going to be a LOT creepier....

I'm looking forward to it because it will still be a fun way to spend Halloween. New mana game, then until dawn, then silent hill 2 haha.

I am sooooo hyped for the remake. I just can't decide what platform to buy it on.

Silent Hill 2 Remake has leaked. Person that's been streaming it has got as far as the prison so far.
I've only been watching bits here and there didn't wanna watch the full thing until I've played it myself, but there's a lot of new stuff added, including new cutscenes. At least one has been removed and changed to something different.

There's a weird thing where when you approach stuff that was for example, a part of a puzzle in the original but isn't here, you get a strange visual/audio effect - wondering if this might tie into one of the new endings.

@BladeDancer Of course it got leaked, lmao. [emoji=music notes size=1]Someone is gonna be in trouble [emoji=music notes size=1] We were predicting that there would be a lot of changes, but the questions is: Do those changes improve the game or not? Not sure I like that.
Does that mean most of the puzzles have been removed? Or just replaced with new puzzles?
@SheridanCharon

(Big plot spoilers for the entire game here for anyone else that might be looking to play it for the first time.)

Most the puzzles seem completely new or shuffled around to new locations.

I knew they wouldn't be able to resist adding a new Angela scene although thankfully they managed to avoid making it offense.

I don't like the cinematography of some scenes, everything just feels so rushed. Like heavy scenes in the original that were given a moment to breathe such as after James views the tapes and the camera does that slow pan around him, now it just cuts to a close-up of his face then Laura immediately entering.

The VHS tape now has 'scary' sound effects and music playing over it as James lunges at Mary with a pillow (no forehead kiss) and you hear Mary crying out.

They changed the order of the Maria in the cell > Angela encounter > finding Maria dead to encountering Angela first before finding Maria in the cell which just shows them not understanding things like that were placed very deliberately for a reason. James meeting Angela on his way to Maria is meant to show he's literally guilty of everything Angela accuses him of because that's what he was on his way to Maria for. That doesn't work if he meets her before he even knows Maria is alive again.

It looks fun to play, the environments are great, James, Angela and Eddie's actors all seem really good but some of the actual scenes really missed the mark.
