Xionahri YIAN KUT-KU MY BELOVED... the old teacher is back to teach us a lesson. Who knows what that lesson even is, surely about how to manage large amounts of monsters (there were like 12 of them in that single shot alone oh dear)

I've seen an interesting speculation
video about that. In short, near the kut-ku, a wudwud can be seen. Maybe these kut-ku are domesticated, or otherwise befriended, by the wudwuds, and we don't get to fight them specifically. However, wild or feral ones probably exist.

YIAN KUT-KU! Unlikely stretch but it’d be neat if the wudwud are a Rider-adjacent culture, since it would be interesting to see mainline game Hunters interact with cultures that have a different relationship to monsters than they do.
The Scarlet Forest is so pretty. I’m hoping that the open world means we don’t have a time limit on looking at the scenery. Can’t wait to see what small fauna exists.

I'd really love to be more excited, I am! I've been hype all year since this is my favourite franchise and mhwilds looks crazy...
But goddamn. The price. I know there's a lot going around about the price, but I'm an Aussie. It rounds to exactly 105 AUD, which is insane... World was only 40, combined with Iceborne it was 100 total for both.
If that's the price for the base game on its own then I'm terrified to imagine what any kind of DLC will look like here.
I'm waiting and hoping for a demo to be released on steam at some point so I can decide whether I want to buy it full price. I was hoping to avoid spoilers but if I have to wait for a sale it's inevitable.

On the other hand the new monsters look phenomenal! The Arkveld especially because it has wing whips which a lot of frontier monsters have. It's giving me hope that we might see a few frontier beasties someday :D

I feel you, it's 80€ where I live, a few years ago this would've been the price for the deluxe edition...
Usually, the DLC cost less than the base game though at least. I think I'll buy it on release still because I've already set money aside for it anyway (I've not spent much on gaming this year) and I really want to play it with my partner.
On another note, I've watched the new gameplay and wow the forest looks so good, especially in the plenty season! It feels really alive, something I've sorely missed in Rise! Also,

Rompopolo is a hilarious name for a mosquito monster, and I didn't expect it to be a brute wyvern of all things! Ajarakan is a nice addition too, it's been a while since a new monkey, right?
but dear oh dear. The new locale? The manmade structures within it? The new town? THE BLACK FLAME? thats just a CRAZY design, can't wait to fight it!

Great trailer! Brute wyverns continue to have great designs. And that's a cool (well, hot) monkey.
But damn, GIANT OCTOPUS! Yes. If this isn't an Elder Dragon, as as some cephalopod-like monsters were before, imagine cephalopods (or mollusks as a whole) becoming a new monster class and getting consistently even more variety in later games. But that's just wishful thinking, I believe this one is probably an Elder.
I'm absolutely gonna play the beta, as long as I don't have to preorder the game for it. Getting it as a Christmas gift.
Side note: I noticed them only mentioning hunter and palico customisation. No mention of seikrets. Strange.
