can I be on the waitlist? thank you
Alrighty so I got some time to do this huge post since I think we're left with 7 players left, and if we were to take the worst case scenario, the killer, minion and vengeful are still alive, and there are 4 townies left. I'll try to clue hunt as much as I can :O Town can still do this!
Clues collected:
Kill 1:
"Double-checking no one else was around before they carefully around"
"Waits patiently for them to stop moving"
"the killer carefully pulls the rope off their neck and delicately steps off the body,"
- Killer is cautious, meticulous
- Patient
- Gentle with the body
"Carefully climbed through the carelessly left-open window"
- Killer climbed in from the window
"Quickly, they pin Soliloquy"
- Strong dragon
"Soliloquy uses the last of their strength to bring his tail around to hit their assailant with its tail jewel, but their efforts were in vain"
- Killer dodged the attack or is resilient to hits
"Painting a morbid picture"
- The killer likes to enjoy their scenes?
Notes: the rope was a makeshift rope.
—
Kill 2:
"The strength of the smell seems to stay the same as he follows it"
- Killer is in front, luring the victim
"Sees a half-eaten red herring"
- Eats seafood or has a familiar that could have eat the fish
"He tenses to bolt, but his realization came too late. He's tackled to the ground from behind,"
- A super fast dragon, was initially in front luring Suri, but quickly moves behind to attack him
"They take in the scene for a few moments,"
- The killer enjoys their scenes? (??)
Notes: access to fish (fish probably taken from Riviel) and poison.
—
Kill 3:
"What surprises her is the fact she doesn’t immediately recognize them, they're glaring at her is a little confusing, considering she doesn't recognize them,"
- Feroe has not interacted with the killer, so Feroe would not have recognized them
"Kicks a bucket she hadn't noticed at her face,"
- Killer could kick high enough at her face
Notes: Fable was sleeping when Feroe was killed by the Killer, implying that the killer cannot be Fable.
Killer has access to a red flag (or some kind of red fabric), and is able to handle fire ants, which means an insect eater in this case. The killer covered the bucket with a cloth so that ants wouldn't sprawl out until it was kicked? Someone who eats insects would be able to obtain the insects on their own.
—
Kill 4:
"they heard something break into a sprint behind him"
- The killer is fast
"Requiem's killer stared down at the poor Skydancer's body for a moment, their talons trembling as their stood over his body."
- The killer has talons? Instead of claws (Not sure if this means anything)
Requiem was close with the killer? But Requiem has not interacted with anyone but Suri.
Trembling could mean a dragon physically exhausted by the kill
"And their body went abruptly limp"
- The killer killed Requiem in one blow, strong dragon, maybe?
Notes: the killer's footsteps were heavy & weighted, which could imply a heavier dragon.
Andromeda's description:
A baker and cook for her home clan, Andromeda is one of the sweetest dragons you'll ever meet—or at the very least, one of the most patient. She's an excellent briber negotiator and a firm believer in teamwork, and she always seems to have something up her sleeves to pacify unruly dragons. She often collects plants with powerful aromas and strings them up on her wings, serving as a natural perfume until she finds an opportunity to use them as ingredients. Some would claim she acts mildly condescending and treats everyone around her like a child that needs to be coddled... but she just says they don't know how to accept random acts of kindness.
- Pacify unruly dragons (could have explained how Soliloquy was strangled despite the weight difference)
- Collects plants with powerful aromas//opportunity to use them as ingredients (could have explained how she got the poison)
…and strings them up on her wings (could have explained the first kill: strings bundled up to form a thicker rope)
Other notes:
- The size to fit into Soliloquy's lair, but not sure if she has the strength to pull it off
- Has a familiar that could have eaten the fish for the 2nd kill
Skydancers eat insects, so Andromeda would have an easier time collecting fire ants for the 3rd kill
As a cook, she would have access to salt used for the 4th kill
Not sure how she would fit the 4th clue, but it is possible that since she's a nanny, she may be old, she would be able to tire easily, causing the weighted footsteps after sprinting.
Riviel's description: Riviel is kind of just an oblivious fisherman, he loves talking to people but needs his space sometimes. He really, really loves fishing.
- Not much in his description to work with, so it's hard to defend him
- As a fisherman, Riviel would have easy access to ropes used for the first kill
- As a fisherman, Riviel would have easy access to fish, and would have used the fish for the 2nd kill
- Riviel has a stinger gene, which could explain the poison
- Riviel has six limbs which could help him hold down Soliloquy
- Aethers (in canon) eat plants and insects, meaning he could have gathered fire ants
- Salt can be obtained from seawater
- Most likely vengeful?
- Heavy footsteps does not fit him, since he's a fisherman he'll need to be stealthy.
Jovial's description:
Jovial is a very kind hearted dragon who always wants the best for his community. His open mindedness and diplomatic skills helped the Monsters he eventually ended up siding with in the Battle of the Viridian Labyrinth. Unforunately
not everyone was happy with his decision to support the monsters as a dragon, and one thing lead to another, which ended with him getting cursed by a shade-mage.
After the war died down and the treaties were signed, Jovial resigned from his duties to enjoy the peace he tried so hard to create. He didn't think that he would be able to do as much work as he did before his new condition anyway. Still, not one to give up
Jovial learned Shadow magic to aid him with the control of his newfound shade-magic. He still uses his Lightning magic too, as that is the one that comes the most naturally to him, however he's unable to create a lot of Lightning energy on his own, which upsets him greatly.
When Champ told him about a new clan that he was going to establish, Jovial followed him into the area without a question, joking about how the clan would fall apart in two days without him anyway. His actual beliefs are far from this though, he simply sees this as an opportunity to hang out with his friend a little more, get some fresh air and help a new clan out.
14/04/23 Edit: He stores Lightning energy in his cane, as his own body is no longer good at producing or storing magical energy.
- He didn't think that he would be able to do as much work as he did before his new condition anyway. Still, not one to give up (could have explained the weighted footsteps, since sprinting would be a difficult task for him)
Other notes:
- As a coatl, would be able to take a bite out of that fish
Would be heavy enough to strangle Soliloquy without much issue
- Poison could have obtained from his experience with Viridian - - Labyrinth, and the war with the Monsters
- Could have explained the heavy steps, though not sure if Jovial is able to sprint…but you never know
Arlund's description:
Arlund is very absorbed in the arts, he has a vast range of skills and interests, but he can hardly keep to one hobby for very long. Arlund has surface level experience or martial arts, and various combat methods, sciences, and sorcery, but his forte is anything art related. Arlund can maintain a conversation about almost anything.
Arlund is travelling to this new clan, so that he might gain cultural enrichment from the experience.
- Vast range of skills and interests (could indicate a wide variety of kills, such as poison, fishing, cooking etc)
- has surface level experience or martial arts, and various combat methods, sciences, and sorcery (some combat experience, could have explained how the killer was able to kill dragons with one slit in the throat, and utilize various kill methods)
Other notes:
- If the window is large, everything lines up to Arlund. I think we have misinterpreted everything since the first kill.
- Especially weird that Requiem, a suspect, and the only one who suspected Arlund, was killed right after.
- Would be strong to strangle Soliloquy despite his thrashing.
- Might have explained the "stepped delicately" so as to not crush Soliloquy.
- A guardian has large strides and would be fast
- As an artist, Arlund would be able to craft various weapons, including a rope used to strangle Soliloquy
- Has various interests and might have known about poison
- As a guardian, would have been able to eat the fish
- As a guardian, would eat insects and therefore able to gather fire ants
- Red flag could be one of his art pieces
- Could have explained why the killer was enjoying the scene of the crime before going away
- A guardian is heavy and would have heavy steps
I think the most likely suspect here is Arlund. If we reassess the size of the window, everything lines up to him. A first I thought it was Andromeda but I think based on what the clue says I doubt it's Andromeda now, she wouldn't have been strong enough to strangle Soliloquy, right?
I think I'm fairly confident with this accessment, but I may be wrong -- please if there are points I have missed please bring it up!

Majority of Arlund being sus hinges on the window. I calculated enough space to allow for a dragon at most 3x Soliliquy's size. Even with that, Arlund could barely fit.
The majority of kills are physical, until the victim is Feroe. This implies that the killer is smaller, and able to strangle and slash the other three victims, but not Feroe.
-Feroe would recognize Arlund, since she had directly interacted with him before. The only dragon she hadn't was Andromeda.
-Fable also has various interests: "spends most her time doing mysterious things"
-If Andromeda can be sus for heavy footsteps due to tired, so can Fable. Neither dragons are expressly athletic.
I still have no idea who to suspect. There's some things that just place seeds of doubt in each one I try to zero in. But it's 100% not Arlund, I think some evidence you placed are a bit of a stretch.
-Like the fire ants. almost every dragon still alive can eat insects.
-Requiem's death could be a framing attempt,
that seems to be what the killer is trying to do for a lot of these kills. This stands out to me. This killer is extra clever imo.
-The killer observing the scenes could be thoroughness, ensuring death of victim.
-You also defended Fable's amount of apparel as reasoning for how she couldn't sprint. Arlund would not be able to sprint very well either in that case.
I'm really leaning towards Jovial, and mayybe Fable. Kill 3 seems to set up Fable's innocence too easily. But there's also so many seeds of doubt for whoever I try to zero in.

It is not implied how big the window or the den is, it could have been way bigger, but I don't think we should assume the size that quickly. I mean, I remember 3rd anniversary -- and imperial was able to burst into the den of a veilspun (a horse sized one) and so we can't actually discount the fact that a den is just large.
Yes, it makes sense. But have you considered the possibility that the killer wanted to put sus on the smaller dragons, using physical kills on smaller dragons but a hands-off one for a big one? From the first kill, we basically assumed it was not the big dragons, and therefore the killer picking off the non-suspects. This could be a way to make people think it's someone smaller. A large dragon is not immune from using hands-off kills. A hands-off kill doesn't automatically mean a smaller dragon; a bigger one is as capable of it. You can take a look at Kira's round for round 29 -- An imperial was using poison and other hands off kills.
Has Feroe interacted with Arlund? Ohh dang I need to go take a look. I read back at her posts I don't see her interacting with Arlund though, which post was that?
It is possible that Requiem's death is a framing attempt, but it makes no sense to me for a suspect to be killed unless they were pushing sombody.
Hm, it's not really about Fable's apparel -- it's about her description being bathed in gold, which presumably made her heavy? I do not think her apparel made her heavy...she's not even wearing much. The compass is largely floating, just like her lanterns.
And she's only 369kgs, so assuming the bathed herself and got covered in pure gold, she wouldn't be able to carry all that weight to be able to sprint. The gold would harden around her as it is cooling down. She's one of the lightest dragons around, even lighter than Andromeda.
And look at Andromeda's apparel, she is wearing teapot and teacups, and the teapot might be heavy. Also, she's also wearing prismatic cystalscales, and that's a bunch of rocks on her body which might weigh her down.
If we were to interpret the 4th clue as possibly the dragon being not atheletic, I agree that Fable, Andromeda and Jovial are suspects. But for Fable, there are more contradictions regarding the kills, even more so than Andromeda's and Jovial's. Jovial is old so he's likely to have weighted footsteps if he tried to sprint. Rather, we should look into the both of them if it's not Arlund.
So it's not really about the apparel! Even if it was, Arlund, a much larger and heavier dragon, who has basic combat knowledge, would be at least rather physically capable, and would be much more capable of sprinting.
Yes, I'm honestly surprised that was written in the kill :o But apparently this has actually happened before in previous games, and it's not a stretch to think that sometimes this happens!
Yes, Jovial could be a suspect as well, more so than Fable.

Oh wow, why would they allow an imp to fit in a veilspun window???
Ye Arlund helped carve the tombstone after 1st kill:
https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/forga/2548744/328#post_53992765
So if big dragons could still be sus, could champ even be a suspect?
Also new thought that's probably wrong:
What if the footsteps were artificially weighted as another framing attempt? Idek how likely that is, but that's a thought I just had.
