and i decided to take on a breeding project for him!! and quite literally the first nest i've hatched, i got lucky and got the little goober i need FJDKHSFSFS

all of the genes i need for him are gem genes (plus a treasure breed change) but, its not a big problem for me lol i am gonna Do Some Grinding And Trading™?!!! its kinda funny to me that i got two pairs of dragons purely for this project in case it'd take a while, the other is still on nest rn pffft
what's the fastest breeding project turnout y'all have gotten?? this is. quite literally my first time doing one and i think i got quite lucky both getting good parents and good hatchlings so quick :'D

This guy right here was part of the first nest I hatched for this project, and while he didn't match my scry exactly, only his tert was off. So I changed the tert on the scry to see how it looked and it... didn't look too different. And so, my breeding project came to an end (in one nest, lmao)

How lucky! I've had lots of breeding projects over the years, the the situation you describe happened to me exactly once. The parents had a broader range for the secondary/tert, plus I wanted the hatchling to already have glimmer. Their nest was only two eggs, so I wasn't super optimistic.
BUT THEN. Not only did a hatchling pop out with the [i]exact [/i]colors/genes I wanted, but she was a natural primal to boot! I was stunned.
In contrast, her matching mate took 6 months to appear despite the parents having a tighter range. I suppose that's RNG for you!
