Aaaah, I've been working on this off and on whenever I've had time this week, hopefully I'll be able to get all the tasks done before the deadline! So nice to see Wind do a photo hunt though, they're always so much fun.
Also! I had fun coloring the name card template, and I never even realized how much I wanted a printable task checklist! I've always just ended up jotting down the stuff I'm looking for in previous hunts, but this is so convenient.
Update: I did it! (Assuming everything counts, at least. :P) Had a great time with this scav hunt, too!
Introduction:
Pick a dragon to represent your exploration and tell us a little about you, your clan, or your dragon.
& Post your ID card
Sandstorm here's my wandering merchant, and he probably does plenty of business with beastclans so learning more about harpies would be particularly relevant to him.
General knowledge:
1. Something colorful, 2. Something decorated, 25. tall place/structure
Combining a colorful cat toy (1), flowers I arranged in a puppy planter (2, that counts as decorating, right?), and a puzzle featuring Big Ben (25).
3. Festive Decoration
Charlie Brown's Christmas tree, minus the typical red bauble hanging from it because the glare was terrible.
4. A harpy-inspired piece of art or written record, 35. bamboo, 37. pinwheel
Scribbled this masterpiece of my snapper Sandstorm taking a photo of the tray of prepared meat a harpy's holding, with pinwheels and bamboo around them. ...Okay yes, I'm no artist. :P (Also I got his hat's shape wrong, but shhh.)
Physical Attributes
5. bird
Some kind of woodpecker, in the center of both photos. (Second photo's proof with my name card. Technically the bird's still there, but it's so tiny I didn't want to use just that image. You can open it in a new tab to zoom in if needed, though.)
6. feather
A fake feather, otherwise known as a (supervised) cat toy.
7. egg or nest
Pretty sure these are squirrel nests. (Hopefully my name card is distinct enough.)
8. claw, 9. hair adornment
Using claw shavings from my cat (way safer than trying to get a picture of his actual claws) and an elastic hair tie.
Diet
10. baked good
I can do baking if it's the simple packaged mixes where you just add eggs/oil/water/whatever and stick it in the oven, but this particular muffin is store-bought.
11. vegetable
Lima beans, one of my favorite veggies.
12. prepared dish
Ramen noodles count as a prepared dish, right? I stuck them in boiling water for a few minutes and then added the seasoning mix that came with them (which I didn't think to photograph for the next task), so that's preparation... aka I have simple tastes, and also basically no cooking skills.
13. seasoning or garnish
Hear me out, I drizzle syrup on waffles to change their taste, which is basically what seasoning and garnish do, so it's close enough, right?
14. serving dish
I didn't even have to fudge the definition for this one!
15. kettle, 22. colored pencils, crayons, or pastels
The Windsinger teapot lineart I colored for the Pottery Painting event (15), plus the fluorescent colored pencils I used for part of it (22, upper right corner). Also included the highlighters I used, because why not?
Trade & Artistry
16. pigments/paints/powder, 17. a coin or coins, 18. decorated pottery, 19. beads, 20. blank canvas
Featuring a few of my paints (16, left), loose change (17, in bowl), a piece of glazed pottery I made (18, right), a random assortment of green beads (19, in bowl, just under right corner of name card), and blank tombstones for deceased players in the Oregon Trail card game (20, center).
21. tapestry/scarf, 33. something woolen
A long winter scarf (21, right) and a woolen sweater (33, left).
22. colored pencils, crayons, or pastels
(with 15)
Clan Structure
23. eldest female-identifying dragon in participant's clan*
That would be my classy older lady, Jem.
Cities & Architecture
24. cliff/rocky edge/crag
An example of erosion. (Closest thing I could find to a cliff.)
25. tall place/structure
(with 1)
26. bridge
There are plenty of cats in the area and I've seen them walking on fallen logs before, so this is basically a bridge to them.
27. graffiti/urban art/mural/street art
The title screen for the game Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, where "Apocalypse" is done in graffiti.
Combat
28. group of things
A fallen branch full of helicopter leaves before they've turned brittle and floated down on their own! I didn't actually know they could look like this.
29. mask/face covering
Not the kind of mask I wear out in public, but way cooler and really fits the harpy theme.
30. your coli team*
For grinding I just use my Mire Flier and Kelp Beds duo together.
Alliances & Feuds:
31. scholarly knowledge
Not sure if I've ever read this
entire thing, but it seems like a good reference book.
32. a gift
From a friend, a squishy pikachu that's perfect for hugging.
33. something woolen
(with 21)
Local Environment:
34. flowers
No idea what kind they are.
35. bamboo
(with 4)
36. balloon or kite
I'd been wondering what I could do for this one, but then I remembered I still have the tiny kite I made for an MJ Kite Contest I-don't-even-know-how-many years ago. :D
37. pinwheel
(with 4)
38. crystal or stone
It looks like a crystal to me.
39. stream, brook, creak/small body of water
The rippled sandy bottom of this creak looks cool.
40. a wind dragon in your lair, or dragon with Harpy familiar*
As a Wind clan, I have... a lot of Wind dragons, but Mesmer looks pretty windy so I'll show him.
Edited to add: 1. Something colorful, 2. Something decorated, 3. Festive Decoration, 4. A harpy-inspired piece of art or written record, 8. claw, 9. hair adornment, 11. vegetable, 14. serving dish, 15. kettle, 16. pigments/paints/powders, 17. a coin or coins, 18. decorated pottery, 19. beads, 20. blank canvas, 21. tapestry/scarf, 22. colored pencils, crayons, or pastels, 25. tall place/structure, 27. graffiti/urban art/mural/street art, 29. mask/face covering, 31. scholarly knowledge, 32. a gift, 33. something woolen, 35. bamboo, 36. balloon or kite, 37. pinwheel
