still drawing dragons, just haven't colored any of them in a few weeks! i've struggled with nocturnes in the past, but with a little stylization and the help of my new friend the symmetry tool the impossible has eked toward possible ^__^
i've been obsessively drawing nocturnes and spirals in my sketchbook, so more of those breeds will probably pop up here once i digitize and color the sketches. it always takes a while for me to master drawing a breed, but once it clicks it clicks! that just means i take a looong time to work out how i want certain characters to look - many of my permas differ in appearance pretty significantly from the site art, and i can't reasonably explore that if i haven't figured out how to draw the "default" dragon of that breed...but as i add more breeds to my repertoire, the challenge seems more and more manageable ^__^
it's a lofty goal to draw all my dragons (especially when i buy/hatch more per week than i draw -__-''), but it's a ton of fun! i feel it brings me closer to their characters to consider how they appear to those around them...

it seems i forgot to share some recently finished pieces of two special dragons! Torio and his daughter share the responsibility of testing code and holding images for use in dragon bios...i have many, many links of bio resources saved with titles as descriptive as i can muster, but it's so much easier to have a go-to place where i can see all the relevant images for my current projects instead of searching through text...i haven't thought much about my clan's relationship to technology, but it's fairly easy to reconcile - there are clans out there with smartphones and electrical outlets, clans with flashbulb cameras and staticy radios, and then there's my clan...some members may be curious about the steamships and touchscreens they observe when interacting with travelers, but largely they're uninterested in a technological revolution.

as for Orion, my to-do list keeper - i wanted to rush through my drawing process, which is typically unhurried and takes weeks or many, many more to finish a single drawing...i sketched him out on the computer and finished the lineart and base colors in under two hours. the gembond, though, took awhile xD but i didn't scour every pixel for mistakes, and even when i see them now (like the missing spines on his tail...) i don't feel pressured to go back and edit edit edit like i may have in years past. i think it's a cute drawing, and that's all it has to be!
though my use of them on the site is primarily utility, these two dragons are certainly present in my lair and lore, and it felt right to give them each their own piece of art! it's way more fun to use dragon bios to carry wips than personal forum threads...i highly recommend it!!

finally finished up an old wip with advice from a friend & i'm pleased to have something to share here after so long ^__^ i'm working on expanding the kitchen staff serving my clan in lore, and this is just one of many illustrations to spring from that extra effort in imagination! i got to draw ripple for the first time, too, which was lots of fun!
