I have to say, while elements of this were always going to happen for Druzii (mainly the forbidden love aspect) she only really got to take the 'good' path for two reasons. One of which being the fact that Flavius died, and she got some of the story he was going to have with Crimson. The second reason is because of the song Gravity got and who she became as a person as a result.

Doben had made quite a few changes to the castle since he had taken it over. All of Cerys's experimental equipment had gone, either trashed or handed off to Malphite. The aberration had ideas for how to make the shade even stronger, and Doben was all too happy to leave him be if it meant more power for him. He had also expanded the reach of his shade to cover the whole castle. He could see everything, pop out of any crack or void that dotted the ceilings, walls and floors. The castle was no longer falling apart, it was more-so phasing in an out of existence at various points. But who needed walls and roofs? All Doben needed was to keep an eye on his underlings.
On one particular day, he caught the sense of some new presences in his domain. Normally, this would be cause for a hunt to feed his always-hungering belly, but something stopped him in his tracks, leaving him to watch in curiosity.

They were lead by a guardian. He walked calmly through the corridors, unfazed by its current state of being. Normally, dragons who wandered in were dragons dared to enter by friends, only to become prey for Doben and the Shade. These dragons seemed to know exactly what they were dealing with. The wildclaw and the gaoler took up protective positions around the guardian, but even they held an air of confidence that intrigued Doben. Did they not know how fragile their pathetic lives were?
Doben pulled his form together, crafting it from the shade engulfing the castle, and snapped his fingers next to a vase to get the attention of Minx.

"Find out why they are here, and bring them to me," Doben ordered. The nocturne emerged from her vase-form and scuttled off while the spiral dissipated once again into omnipotent nothingness.
He watched as she took the form of a lacy rug in the middle of their path, only transforming draconian once again once she had been stepped on by the clumsy gaoler. From a distrance, Doben watched as Minx prowled around them, intimidating them. They did not scare easily, and firmly stated their case - they wanted to see the master of the castle. They shared no more details with Minx.
Well, that was smart of them. If Doben knew what they wanted and was uninterested, he would gobble them up in an instant. He supposed he better prepare for an audience. And so, he took form once again in the castle's throne room - previously ignored by Cerys, and created an impossibly long body to coil around the seat. He kept his tail linked to the shade in the shadows of the room. He did not wish to lose his surveillance of thee castle should this be a distraction for an attack.
Moments later, Minx strutted in, followed by the three newcomers.
"I'm surprised to have visitors on the first day of the Mistral Jamboree," Doben flicked his tongue as he hissed. "It's a busy time of year."
"We only celebrate the most pure of all gods - The Gladekeeper," The guardian said gruffly. "You hardly seem the celebratory type yourself."
"You are correct," Doben's eyes flashed. "Enough chit-chat. Tell me why i shouldn't just devour you whole where you stand."
"Because we share a common enemy," The guardian grinned. "And I would be willing to turn a blind eye to the unnatural abominations emerging from this corner of the Viridian Labyrinth as long as we come to some sort of alliance against them."
"Are you implying I'm weak?" Doben roared with anger, drawing in more shade to make himself larger until he towered over the newcomers. "I've got everything handled, and it is a grave insult to suggest-"
"I'm sure you are all strong and powerful, that's why you've been picking off Refuge dragons one by one instead of sweeping the clan into your maw in one fell swoop," The guardian laughed. "This domain is easy, sure, but up against the barrier? You will need our combined power to vanquish them."
"What are you suggesting," Doben narrowed his eyes.
"We clear a path for you, neutralize the barrier," The guardian put forth. "You strike the clan, get whatever revenge you want. On one condition. We get any plague-born dragons, whether noted by eye colour or breed, to punish for tainting our beautiful flight."
"And afterwards?" Doben asked. "Once you no longer require our services and we become a blight on your perfect land?"
"As I said, we turn a blind eye," The guardian's eye flashed. "So long as you don't hurt any nature-born dragons loyal to their flight. Traitors, outsiders, we don't care what you do with them. It's survival of the fittest after all."
"You've got yourself a deal," Doben pulled himself right in front of the guardian's face. "But any funny business, and you are being gobbled right up."
"And any funny business from you and we come in with an extermination team to wipe out this hellhole." The guardian growled back, not flinching.
And thus the deal was struck.

Destiny was hanging windchimes around Orphan Manor early in the morning on the dawn of the Mistral Jamboree. She wanted to be sure the house was properly adorned before the first breeze hit The Refuge.
Sure enough, just as she was tying the knot on the last one, a sudden gust swept over the clan, shaking the branches of the trees, and bringing with it leaves and flower petals. All around her, the chimes of her creations rang out, heralding the start of the wind festival.

These durable scales were molted from a Shellion. They remain flexible and waterproof for years after they have molted, a property that has not gone unnoticed by dragons.

I chortled when I imagined Destiny enjoying the breeze with closed eyes and then a sudden slapping sound to the face from the baby Fae. XD btw, you hatches are amazing! A double even - nice!
So sorry to hear you got covid, but it's good to know that you are feeling better. Hopefully no lingering symptoms? This season has been terrible for sicknesses. Even my family has been hit hard =(
Also, I know we were thinking about a reunion meeting with Scat/Amy and Persephone. Do you think we'll have time before the series ends or will it be more of an epilogue chapter?

Also, the imagery of Vivid slapping against Destiny's face is too good.
Please be gentle with me, I get stressed and anxious easily, and don't always pick up on meanings or social cues. I'm very detail-oriented & like to have all information possible before proceeding.
I didn't even realize she was a double until after I hatched her, so it was all very exciting!
Just a bit of fatigue and a marginally runny nose, but otherwise I am good as new!
We'll definitely have time! Sorry it's taken so long! Yesterday I was wanting to message people I still need to do collabs with to start writing them (and then I can just use a writing pull from the future for it) but my brain fog was still too strong to remember what those collabs were and who they were with! let's start messaging about plans, I still have some space to fill before we reach the height of the conflict.
