As She travelled the lands, eternal dark ichor- essence of her most Holy Umbra- dripped from eyes and maw upon the ground beneath Her claws, sinking deep unto the Earth unbeknownst to the Lightweaver. Centuries passed, and Her Essence mingled with crystalline formations buried deep underground. Due to its divine nature, this liquid Shadow gave life to once-inanimate stones. Thus, inorganic beings were born; rough and uncut, they carved themselves into forms similar to the mightiest beings they saw around them, and similar to the distant form they remembered giving them consciousness- The Shadowbinder. Over the years, they have migrated to their true home: The Tangled Wood, in hopes of being granted an audience with Their Creator, whether She is aware of of her Ichorborne children or not. These children do not know if their creation was an accident, and are unsure if they are wanted, yet still search for their Mother. Convening and coming to rest in the Lair of Sleep, they seek to assist in expanding their influence so that they may be noticed. Indeed, this darkness is a shell; inky murk that dripped from the Shadowbinder, turned into obsidian, and encased stone. When this shell wears off or is damaged, the crystal that they are born from is put on full display, often showing a shocking pop of color against the pitch that makes up the rest of them. In their creation, they pulled magical energies from the surrounding area, leading to some Ichorborne dragons without shadow flight eyes; though, now that the brethren they have found have settled down, they seek to prosper.
