My comfort plushie! It’s an alligator i got when i was 6, i sleep with it pretty much every night and i think anyone who doesn’t have a comfort plushie should definitely invest in one
when i'm sad i change into the comfiest clothes i can find, get under the covers, cuddle one of my comfort stuffed animals and put on a jerma985 video. sometimes i'll listen to music instead. (weighted stuffed animals are especially the best most helpful and comforting things ever also.)

hot baths are the best. something about sitting there in the hot water just makes all the bad stuff melt away sometimes ^w^

i collect plushies, and they always make me feel safe - i just love squishy and soft things in general. i’m prone to anxiety attacks at any time of the day no matter where i am, so i always carry a small plush i’ve now attached as a keychain to comfort me

My music playlists
I'm rarely seen without headphones and for good reason, music is a really good stress prevention tactic for me. Depending on my exact mood it might be electronic music, which is good for when I want pure vibes (there is a song that has literally melted away my distress in a matter of seconds). But if I want something that reflects a current state of being I'm in or a certain thought process, it'll probably be AJR bc they're good at doing that whilst also staying at least somewhat upbeat.

Working.
It sounds quite odd, but I feel more comfortable working than when I'm not; it is most likely as a way to have my focus on something else and keep myself busy (alternatively, staying active). Or just hugging something, like a pillow or stuffed animal, and cornering myself does the trick for me.

having my dog, August, around. he's a big boy and a very alert fellow. if anyone's at the door he lets me know. he's normally very well trained and behaved when out in public, but if someone or something tries to approach us from behind something, like bushes or behind a wall, he gets very noisy and doesn't like it. he makes me feel safe just by knowing that he is intimidating to others and way more alert to our surroundings than i am. (not that i would ever let him fight someone or something, i've gotten between him and aggressive off leash dogs before and will always try to protect him)

Being alone (like alone alone...nobody is in the house, and the closest person to me is the guy outside walking his dog on the sidewalk), in my bed maybe drawing, and listening to "Good Days acoustic version- slowed down version" by SZA. Then after a while I just cover myself with blankets and go to sleep. As a kid I used to believe that blankets were this magical shield that could keep anything evil on the other side of it. Though I'm old enough to know better now, I'll probably carry that concept with me for the rest of my life.
