I do think it'd be interesting for people to roll for a specific aspect. It would really suck getting a change for a dragon and then having it be overwritten by the following change. Maybe if the rolls were only specific rolls, like, "I want to roll for an eye change" or what not.
Like having two choices, "I want to roll for a specific aspect" or "I want to put everything on the line". (hm that feels too reminiscent of real life gambling. :P)

support, this would cause absolute havoc and i’m all for it

bruh support
the neopets lab ray is one of the most ridiculously popular aspects of the site lol
to this day 20+ years later people scoop up pound finds just to zap them for months to get something that might be someone's dream pet
we need the treasure sink badly, too.
--i'm in camp 'no imperials' btw. less against the idea of exclusives but that's probably because i grew up on the Lab Ray and the risk of having your level 250 battle pet reset to level 1 / losing your draik to a blue chia on the way to robot was part of the fun there. i concede that times & communities change tho, so would not be sad if they didn't exist.

Support - this is a great idea!
edit to add: I am one of the few who would like an exclusive gene or eye type, but I understand why many dislike that part of the idea.

support, maybe the rarest change could be a random flight switch? im not sure how this would fit into FR lore but it sure would be interesting. altho I suppose it could clash awkwardly with coli settings...

I think the leveling might be kind of rough, like others have pointed out--specifically because of how some stones can only be applied to dragons above a certain level. And I think someone else mentioned it already too--but I think adding eye type changes (not elemental, ofc--just type, like, from primal to rare, or even maybe a special exclusive-to-magni eye type akin to how neopets had exclusive lab ray colors!) would be amazing!!
I really love the idea of something like this; it would be so fun, plus, it would serve as an additional treasure sink. Support ^^

Full support everything but the level decrease unless the ray is free once per day. You shouldn't have to:
1) Pay to downlevel your dragon, potentially booting out battlestones you paid for.
2) Exclude your 25's just because they're 25's.

[*]Changing eye types is cool, I agree.
[*]Weight and Height are a fun result, would make a great common option
[*]Exclusive genes or eye types could work, but only if you got a scroll instead of applying it to your dragon. It could be fun if it was a result of magic hitting the wrong target and affecting a blank scroll, so magni gives it to you lol.
[*]Most aren't ok with imperials on the breed change option, so I assume it wouldn't be present
[*]Changing elements would be interesting, would love to see more opinions on that? I'm neutral on it because I don't care enough about eye colors lol.

I don't agree with the second point, because the whole point is that it's a gamble. You could argue to remove other results like colors (excludes your XXXs just because they're XXXs) or genes (exclude your gened dragons just because they're gened, because basic is also a possible result you can get) with the same logic.
For the stones, I feel like a failsafe where the stone is greyed out until you get the level back would suffice.

[*] Nothing happens (highest chance. sorry!)

This kills the entire idea, no support. FR already had a feature where the frequent result was "nothing changed", the scattervials - it was universally hated as it looked like the item failed, and finally, instead of unretiring them or changing the odds, separate eye vials were introduced that removed that "failed" result entirely. There is no need to repeat the same frustration mechanic in another way.

Comparing this to scattervials is disingenuous, imo. The reason why scattervials and their gamble sucked was because they were the only way to change your dragon's eye, they were only available for an extremely limited time which made their stock limited on top of the gamble.
The only thing that is exclusive to Magni is changing height and weight, stats that most people forget exist or just ignore. Want a breed eye, or gene change? MP, gem marketplace, baldwin, coli and the AH are all there. Want a new color? Tri color scatterscrolls. Want more levels? Go to coli or pay someone to level your dragon. Magni isn't the only avenue to finish your projects, like the scattervial was

Best to remove "nothing happens" as its super frustrating. Have the lowest thing be "energy bar filled to 100%" It's not great, but it's something.
