Its supposed to be an honor? Surely his daughter Silenn could fill in for him. And why so much apparel?!? For sure he's taking one piece off each day - unless its a really really long boat trip he'll still have plenty covering him by the time they reach the feast. (This trip ends in a feast right? Why else would everybody risk getting wet?)

He's a deep-sea treasure hunter, used to navigating the ocean and all of its dangers, as well as having knowledge of other bodies of water and shores and coasts. He is a bit nervous about not having his Vessel with him for protection and companionship, but he's certainly excited about meeting all sorts of new dragons in a bit of friendly competition!
