I noticed the same thing with grapefruit, gold, and sunset, all of which are much darker than their base color

oh that's neat! (and a relief that it's probably not an art error, because I like fire tide a lot and it's a nice way to redeem a color that I find hard to work with)

tried the genes on my progen (platinum/pink) and the accent colors were also a weird cream/yellow when those colors naturally dont have those tones. guess it's supposed to be like this but,,,idk why these genes have to deviate from the dozens of already existing complimentary colors. dont like it much tbh

Genes like this can save an otherwise unmatchy XYZ, so I frankly live for these genes lol
Just like I am still hoping desperately for a shell/web analog for moderns. It pulls out colors it doesn't do in other genes.

I don't see why the accents have to be universal for every gene. I like that new genes will sometimes add a unique accent color, like Koi did!
As for Fire begin an error, I wondered the same thing about Flaxen, but I think Tide/Foam are just really funky like that.
