[center]Taking place in the vast and oceanic world of Mana, [b]Riptide[/b] follows the many adventures of three pirates, [b]Chip, Jay, and Gillion[/b], as they sail from island to island meeting new friends, allies, and enemies along the way. This story takes place nearly a decade after the events of the Black Rose Pirates one-shot, which was previously run as well by Grizzly a couple months prior. He has his own codes and morals he lives by which is clearly shaped by his previous time with the Black Rose Pirates and his father figure Arlin, but also from other previous ties with people like Captain Price.[/i] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/80505092][img]http://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/805051/80505092_350.png[/img][/url] [i][b]Jay[/b] is considered the most reasonable one of her crew, but is far from the most reasonable person in general as she often eggs on Gillion and Chip's antics or engages in her own nonsense plans. While she is often the voice of reason between the two more emotionally volatile Chip and Gillion, she is not always the impulse control nor is she rigid, acting irresponsibly at times. She is easily the most intelligent of them given her knack for building/tinkering/inventing, as well as being their ship's active Navigator. Her hobby for tinkering makes her resourceful, creative and adaptable. While she is not physically strong, she is crafty and capable. She carefully considers her options and consequences before acting, such as during Grimm's murder mystery party when she does not readily disclose her role as police whilst her fellow party members immediately share theirs. Additionally she rarely, if ever, jumps to conclusions.[/i] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/80756916][img]http://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/807570/80756916_350.png[/img][/url] [i][b]Gillion[/b] is a strong and courageous man who throws himself into danger with no hesitation. He has no qualms with being hurt (and almost seems to encourage it), and he loves to fight, seeming to revel in the violence at times. When fighting, he tends to get overly excited or become somewhat wild. At times, he is oddly eager to have violence inflicted back on him, such as suggesting to others to be hit in retaliation on more than one occasion. While circumstantially, such as when he and the other Riptide Pirates are fighting an enemy or monster, this comes from a place of wanting to protect others, it also comes off masochistic at times.[/i] [img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/cms/familiar/art/34776.png[/img] [i][b]Pretzel[/b] is Gillion's beloved pet frogtopus, gifted to him by his sister, Edyn Tidestrider back when he still lived in the Undersea, since she says he "seemed lonely back then". He always carries her on a glass bubble at his hip, sometimes letter her out to play or other things. He sees her more like a friend than pet it seems, though, given how he frequently has her take turns keeping watch throughout nights. I only have one dragon who truly fits the theme of pirate, and that'd be my gal [b]Kryoce[/b]! She used to be a brutal overlord who ruled a vast section of Ice territory, but she's always worn this pirate-like garb. Perhaps she was a pirate in a past life, and considers that land her treasure? Dirk is the captain of an airborne pirate ship, called The Pulsar. While they're technically classified more as adventurers and explorers, as their favorite treasure is knowledge, a little theft here and there isn't entirely unknown to them. However Dirk has a very strict no-harm rule, unless it comes down to a matter of defense. If a battle ensues, then the crew of The Pulsar will fight until only one group is left standing. He comes from a race that knows nothing but war, but left his original clan in search of a new purpose. He found that purpose with the crew, as its protector. Kelnar made a vow to never start a fight, but he will absolutely finish one in order to protect his newfound family. He was found as a wandering mirror, but has since gained the knowledge to change himself into a pearlcatcher, in order to learn more peaceful ways. However, his original instincts have proven harder to fight than he realized, and he's currently the most likely of the crew to have his fight response triggered, rather than flight.
