The spiral was uncharacteristically tired. Seeing Seph's corpse and losing one of her few friends so quickly must have taken its toll on her. Cyrothska wasn't sure what to do. Quietly, the mith stood up and gently tapped Dune on the shoulder. "Come on, let's go outside. Maybe a bit of air will cheer you up. We could look for June beetles!" He pushed the door open a tad bit, then turned back to his friend. "Or maybe strange birds? I believe there's a nest of dazzling flamewings in the big tree near Kuizer's den." Dune replied with a harrumph. He took that as a yes. As he led the spiral out of the den and towards Kuizer's, Cyroth noticed that most of the remaining dragons had begun to pile up outside of it as well. He quickly changed course from the tree to the group, concern building in his mind. "Another failed attempt?" he asked the skydancer next to him, noticing the untouched trap on the ground. "Who was the target this time?"

Maybe, if it was deserted enough ... Maybe the killer could strike during the day. And that was what Aviva couldn't stop thinking about.

The fifth? She couldn't understand why neither of them had left yet. What was keeping them here? Handing the note to Cyroth, she got up and padded outside without a word, and pulled something small and rectangular from her bag. A sketchbook. Dune quietly sat down (as much as a spiral could sit, anyway) and looked towards the tree near Kuizer's den, waiting for the birds living within to peek out, trying and failing to ignore the overwhelming scent of blood. It was quiet. So quiet. Which was to be expected, now that most of the clan was gone. Kira exited her den, looking around cautiously.

That was when she spotted the bloody sight outside Aviva's den. This...was a lot more messy than the previous deaths. Shocked, but unwilling to get a closer look, Kira sat there in silence. Perhaps it was time to leave this area. What if the killer really was someone from outside the clan?

Here's what happened behind each kill: Siren’s death: Kira’s rabbit familiar, Domino, stole poison/a large amount of sleep–inducing substance from Aviva. She then put them into fish snacks and left the “welcome basket” at Siren’s doorstep. Kira wished to kill Siren to learn more about his physique as a Coatl-Imperial hybrid. Attempt on Seph: Kira followed Seph as he went to hunt, intending to ambush him and use him for research to find out if he was Shadetouched (as a vampire). However, Kuizer and his Sparkle Nymph saved Seph by sending out a bright flash of light to scare Kira away. Seph’s death: Kira gathered dead leaves and branches at Seph’s den entrance and lit them up. She then threw burning branches into his window. Attempt on Kuizer: As a scientist, Kira would be aware of Pink Chalcedony’s properties and how to avoid them. She set up a trap by mixing ground Pink Chalcedony with extra poison and coating knives with them, before putting the knives in the ground. Domino went to knock on Kuizer’s door, but Iriza passed by the area and her movement alerted Kuizer, who opened the door before Domino could knock. Domino then escaped very quickly. Aviva’s death: Out of wanting to obtain more poison, Kira simply went up to knock on Aviva’s door. She didn’t answer Aviva’s question as she did not want Aviva to recognise her voice and choose not to open the door. When Aviva did open the door, she stabbed Aviva.
