I've kept all the dragons given to me when I was a newbie. Hopefully free dergz is still a popular thing to do [emoji=familiar heart size=1]!! I can't believe Clavicus is 8 years old!! I kept the usernames of the previous owner in the descriptions :D. It looks like all previous owners are inactive.

Someone just a bit ago gave me an unhatched noc egg completely unprompted because I goofed up my days and only have one nest to hatch for a special ID. ;u; Now I'm super excited to hatch them and see what fun colors I get whether I get the ID or not!

Years ago someone gifted me a red-footed akirbeak just because they had an old fest item priced low on the AH and I messaged them to make sure the price wasn't a mistake/typo. They said it wasn't a mistake and gifted me the akirbeak for checking.
Another user gifted me windbound plumage long ago. The user had posted a sunchaser for cheap and I messaged them to please hold for me while I got the gems together, but it sold before they could take it off the AH. So they gifted me a plumage to help me out with saving for the sunchaser.
A really good friend gifted me 25kg so I could buy my dream dragon off the AH before it sold.

This guy and this guy are both 7-digits that were gifted to me by a stranger after my friend went around searching to help me complete my collection of dragons hatched on my birthday. They just appeared in a one-way CR out of the blue. The person who gifted me them eventually accepted payment for them, but yeah, that was a really nice surprise.

Yeah, I know. It can be kind of frustrating not being able to call out specific players for acts of kindness. Unfortunately, there are sometimes issues with people getting more attention than they want, or with people targeting players known for kindness with begging/harassment. Disallowing all callouts, negative and positive, helps to protect people from that kind of thing. And some people just prefer to stay anonymous.

I was extremely lucky to get the dragon whose ID matches my lair ID. He was sold to me at a fraction of his actual value. It was years ago, but he’ll always be my favorite dragon. I still can hardly believe it, and I remember his original owner with gratitude every time I see him.

I've had lots of people surprise me with gifts over the years! My own friends and bf have sent me gifts out of nowhere, and I've also been giftbombed a few times.
I remember one user sent me a coli skin from the forbidden portal to complete this guy. Another time someone sent me an old plague fest skin because they happened to see it on my wishlist and had an extra copy.
I was also in a secret santa thing last holiday season and my secret santa really went above and beyond and helped me complete a few projects and outfits!
Most recently, a nice stranger sent me 2 fire festival items on my wish list out of the blue, including the fire halo!
And even when someone just sends me a care package with food or stuff for baldwin or whatever, it really makes my night. Especially when they write out a cute note from their dragon's pov, as if the dragon(s) sent me the gift :)
