Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't find anything in the search.

Will a level 25 Plague with 105 STR / 90 QCK / 11 VIT work well for 2-fodder training in both the Boreal Wood and Crystal Pools? It seems like that should be good but I see two different (similar) builds for those stages so I'm not sure.

@MotherOfBeardies I only have a dedicated Pools trainer, not a Boreal one, but going by that, here is my guess - You would probably have to double Eliminate (absolutely not recommended), or Scratch/multi-Scratch+Eliminate everything in Pools, not only the two sturgeon types, and bosses will probably squash you? 105 vs 130 STR recommended is quite a bit of difference.

I suspect it would be doable, but it would not be time-efficient or as easy to get through the initial battles. Huge amounts of breath would be wasted on one of the two Elims per target, requiring more breath-building time (thus Not Recommended), or a lot of additional turns used on extra Scratches, during either of which your fighter would be taking lots of extra damage. I do not think the greater speed is going to make up for enough of that?

This is only guesstimating though, someone with a Boreal trainer would be able to tell you better than I can.

@williwawwarden - I was going off of the 105 Strength Rally-Elim build mentioned at the bottom of the Crystal Pools post here, not the 130 Strength 1-shot Elim build. 105 should be able to Rally or Scratch + Elim everything in the Pools and Wood, just wondering if it's ideal for both since the Wood build has different Vitality.

@MotherOfBeardies Ahh, my apologies! I tried that build and ended up rebuilding to the 130, I forgot about it since. It seems slower (in all, I mean, not in QCK - counting resets, extra hits, and cast times and all - though this might be highly variable depending on luck of the draw, I might have just had very bad crit/dodge/draw luck with mine). Rally's cast time does not help, and it is more likely to die of simple bad luck. I prefer to have a chance at bosses* as well, depending on the shape my fighter is in when they come up, though that is optional. *fighting bosses is still chancy, Rally seems non-optional for it to me, and the Pools bosses should probably be considered a time-wasting effort themselves unless you are very sure you can win. I know this and try my luck anyway, as I still do not have the familiar drops from either of them. [emoji=nocturne deadpan size=1] If you do not care about any of that, it should at least work, and rebuilding it only costs 30kt or so for the dissolution tincture, plus a Rally you might not end up using later. Being extra picky about your starting fight in Pools helps (but is another time-waster in its own right, and if you do enough of it you run a higher risk of the 'too many captchas in too short a time' temporary lock-out). And since Boreal has no strong bosses, only yetis, it should do fine there. Not as much resetting! This is still only my take based on the version of Pools build I did not enjoy, so, a grain of salt should be sprinkled on my opinion. (Post edited for clarity, I am distracted.)

@williwawwarden - Oh okay, thank you for explaining. I've never actually used a 2-fodder trainer or Rally build, I just thought it would make sense to have the same dragon for both stages since the strength needed to scratch/rally-elim everything but bosses in both venues is so close, and Plague is recommended for both. But the 1-shot elim almost everything is appealing as well!

@MotherOfBeardies I am still only giving my best estimate based on what I have used, and I am far from expert at this.[emoji=nocturne laughing size=1] I do hope someone can give you a more definitive answer! I get more finicky about time efficiency in Pools through Roost, to try to make up for lost time due to significantly less XP (half or less, before adjusting for the higher 1-shots being Rally Elim builds) per fight than Ghostlight or Mire, so I might be being overly picky about this. If priority one is having some 2-fodder trainer who works in both areas, it is is a fair reason to at least try your idea, if you are okay with using the Rally and maybe restatting later. Anymore, if I am going to grind in the areas from Roost down for drops, even though I have 2-fodder specialists for Roost and Pools I would rather use a team of at least 2 grinders that can take down the bosses for certain. If using 2 then +1 fodder dragon along for the ride. I am determined to capture those silly things myself eventually, and if I use a 2-fodder trainer I end up wasting a lot of chances to get those familiars.

@williwawwarden - I already have all the familiars, so that's not as big a deal for me. I do like boss drops and not having to restart, and I have a 1-fodder training team, I just kind of want to try out 2-fodder training too. These stages are obviously not ideal for training but I like having a variety of options/drops. I wish tinctures dropped more often. :'(

Anyways, I guess I'll just have to test out the builds when I get a chance.

@MotherOfBeardies Congrats on the boss familiar collection! [emoji=nocturne happy size=1] Your flight has Dom, so at least it is not the worst time to buy a couple of tinctures off the Battle Marketplace if you need to. I know what you mean about options, too, that was why I went ahead and made those specialists anyway. Boreal is an area I ground to death in my determined hunt for a skin drop for one of my dragons; once I got it, only events have lured me back. I will probably never try your idea for myself, so I am curious to know how it works in practice if you try it! (One of the more battlemath-savvy people around could probably look at the numbers and just tell you how it would go.)
