Hello hello! Anyone here doin ArtFight this year?

What team are you choosing and why? If you drop a link to your artfight profile here I'd be happy to look over your characters and put your link here in this first post for others to find!

Don't know what Artfight is?
Every year in July a whole bunch of artists of all skill levels from all walks of life come together to duke it out, with art! There are two teams each year that all participating people are on, and those people fight it out with art attacks and defenses for their team to win! People post references of their oc's, and you both draw art for them and receive art for your own. Based on several different categories each 'attack' is scored, and at the end whichever team has the most points overall wins bragging rights :D

Its a lot of fun and can be really good practice, and its completely non-committal, so if you're interested there's nothing to lose by giving it a try!

honestly i don't know a ton about cyberpunk either and i like both but i just picked cyberpunk cuz all my friends are on the opposing team and neon... i like the colors haha. i think it's basically just like futuristic aesthetic? i dunno

All I know about cyberpunk aes is that it's all about neon lights, futuristic tech, and city night life !! I personally chose steampunk bc I'm more into rustic colors and I love what they've got going on, but cyberpunk isn't bad either! I love that it ended up being the theme this year,,

cyberpunk was started in the 80s and influenced by the digital revolution, punk/hacker culture, and the war on drugs. aesthetically it involves a lot of nighttime and neon lights with a layer of grime on everything, and traditionally still has that 80s retrofuturist quality.
i recommend akira, blade runner, or blade runner's 2017 sequel if you wanna get a concentrated look at the aesthetic, or the book neuromancer by william gibson if you're up for a good read.

i'm mardi on artfight and i always get my revenge :)

I am kimmon on Art Fight. it is my third year I have over 21 ocs to chose from. some are robotic, a lot of humans and fursonas, also some non furry creatures in the mix. and I will be on team Steampunk.
