Clever! I love all the variations shared.
TOPIC | Oilbelisk
This reminds me of the pair Sealterbloind just finished (click for hatchery):

I like how they're very different takes on the same idea! If you make a pair for this one, I probably won't be able to resist that either.

Typical Variant:
This is the most natural state of the Oilbelisk, and the form most commonly found. The infectious oil has seeped into it's once stone prison and turned it into a creature comprised entirely of oil. It is sticky to the touch, save for the lightning patterns of dried and hardened oil that zigzag across it's flank. Were it not for these dry areas which act almost as support pillars for the beast, it would melt into nothing but a puddle.

Hourglass Variant:
The Hourglass variant of the Oilbelisk has a glass capsule to store extra oil. As it is constantly leaking, it tends to eat more than other Oilbelisks, but after some time it turns that quantity into quality. The oil within it's belly is extremely efficient, able to burn for weeks and even months without needing to be changed. Unfortunately, this makes them very, very valuable to poaches looking for a quick buck... and the more heartless individuals of the Oilbelisk species.

([s]what color did you use for the glowtail I stg[/s])
Flashfire Variant:
Somehow, this variant of the Oilbelisk does not spontaneously combust when touched by fire. In fact, they can even wield it as a power! Burning inside and out, these creatures are a force to be reckoned with, commanding respect from the less magically-inclined variants of its species. If you are careless enough to anger one, you'll be lucky to escape with just a few singed scales.
Anyways I love these and I need 20.
