In end Midnight I believe everyone is just trying to say.. relax, sit back and enjoy the game for what it is in this moment. Many users are expanding their layers such as you're trying to do. They've probably sold a hatchling or two themselves and that's why they're offering 30k+ for other hatchlings... to diversify! They want that obsidian/jade female mirror because they can breed it themselves for attractive offspring..sell the offspring and start the cycle over again.
Its a dog eat dog world in this first week of the opening. Maybe take tomorrow off if its this frustrating? Perhaps in a week dragons will cost 2k..but chances are..with the thousands of dragons out there that someone is going to want that 2k hatchling an inflate the price if its in the forums... after all aren't we all here to breed our dream dragon(s)?

The game's been officially open (to those that didn't get in on the Headstart) for less than a week. Maybe give it some time before you start complaining that things are too expensive. With so many people joining, the economy on hatchlings and such will probably stabilize pretty quick...

I doubt hatchlings will ever go down to 2k, but I do get what you are saying.

As a quick note, crafting is not in game. We have stated its something we'd like to do, but its not ANYThing I would hold your breath on or already be saving for. :-)
A strategy I like to do is to keep all stacks of things I see Swip request. Then for everything else (food, materials, ect.) I like to keep 3 of each in my hoard and I vendor the rest with the sell button. THen you have the item on hand if Crim wants it, but you can sell your extras!

They did in closed beta. WE're in the game's early life. Figure that your two dragons can lay a nest every 15 days and get 1-5 babies. After those 15 days roll around, they can do it again... and the babies can too. Repeat over the course of 2 months and the dragon population will climb rather quickly!
They won't go much below 2K though. The exaltation system ensures that. :-)

The more common breeds, like the starters, might. Especially if they have less than attractive color themes. Anything is possible :) I'm in the boat with you, it's hard ot earn the treasure you need to buy dragons (I just spent 30k to get a handsome little Mirror Boy for my Clan), just hang in there!

Undel omg an Admin posted on here, didn't expect that XD
and anyway, thanks for the advice! That'll probably help a bit and tell me, do you know a good price to sell the...I think they are called Aucity stones...in the Auction House? I currently have a ton in there for 2K and only one has sold. Do I have them too high?
@
Majick Thanks for the vote of confidence :3 and true, starters might.
And I'm playing to collect more dragons really, and fight them and trade and such. Isn't that why we are all playing? For the dragons? Not the fake money?
In a word, no. xD
This is an entire virtual pet site, not just a dragon adoptables site. I don't think anyone really enjoys grinding games, but if you don't want to put in IRL cash, then you need to play the game, and vice versa, in order to get "rich". Generally with most online games it's always a tradeoff - you need to invest something, either time or money, to get what you want. If you can't invest the money then the only thing to do is either grind the games and coliseum, or wait a little for the prices on dragons to drop, which they certainly will. The ways to get money on FR are already a lot more fun than on many other similar sites, at least.

For the AH (not sure why they call it that, since there's no bidding involved), just price lower than the current lowest in item search. That's really all there is to it. And if it's still not selling, then there's just no demand for that item.

I think it's kind of silly that you are complaining about people dumping actual money in the site...because that's how the site survives and any pet site would try to encourage players to spend money on their site.
And actually, you don't need to spend money to snipe. You just need to have a good base of treasure (earned from games/other sales/coliseum). I'd say 30k is all you need to get started sniping at hatchlings (assuming you want to snipe 1-3 hatchlings at once). In fact, if you had the patience to just sit there for 10 hours refreshing the AH, you're good to go.

Silverthorne True, that's always a good idea, thanks

Toska I'm not complaining that they give the site money. I'm complaining that because they give so much it makes it hard for those of us that do wanna support and participate in the site, but don't have money to give to it. And most hatchlings I've seen have either gone for 1000+ gems or ONE hatchie for 30k gems, so it wouldn't really be able to snipe 2-3) And I've already gotten the advice to just start by doing the Fair grounds rather than trying to find hatchlings, it'll make the hatchlings much easier. I hadnt realized how big the runestone buff was.
