A Kelpie? A Siren? Selkie, Nymph, Mermaid... The names she's heard over her years of existence were many, but none had truly ever managed to describe her in her full extent. Perhaps the closest some people had come was to call her a Nereid, a benevolent, helpful sea nymph of Greek mythology which guide sailors through storms, or a Jengu- which were water spirits in mythology of the Sawa, an ethnic group in Cameroon. They supposedly resembled merpeople, but were thought to be gap-toothed and had long, woolly hair. The Sawa believed these spirits could act as an intermediate between the living and the spiritual world. Jengu were also thought to cure disease, and played an important role in some tribal rites, for example when a child entered adulthood. Whichever she may or may not be, though, is unimportant; Tide is a gentle being who has appeared to the Clan in the form of a Veilspun, emerging from the calm waters of the ocean on a full moon night as if made from the very waters she inhabits and the glimmer of starlight. Her mane mirrors the stars in open waters, glowing softly when the sun goes down; her eyes a deep chocolate brown, like the rocks she loves to sunbathe on; covering her entire body are mottles of ivory mother-of-pearl, a resource which she will occasionally donate to her clan in order to aid the sick and weak- a remarkable medicine that can't be explained. Tide moves with the grace and fluidity of her namesake, becoming more active when the moon is waxing, and more reclusive when the moon is waning. Her speech is melodic and soft, and some claim they can hear the echo of waves behind her every word. No one knows why she joined this Clan, exactly- or perhaps, those who know simply do not wish to tell. She seems very content here, though, and everyone who's met her have said that her presence is soothing and calm, making her an idea companion, and thus, no one has even [i]considered [/i]asking her to leave. They strive to one day leave the skies and take back the land in the name of Dragonkind. They have distaste for the rulers, past and present. This is why Jericho joined them. Bored of the responsibility, He joined in hope he could be free of them someday. The group has ties to some sea-dwelling kingdoms that are willing to help. But they're shrouded in darkness, mostly unknown to the public. The name 'Dragon's of the Earth' is barely known. But they are a threat to humans below and a threat to the king above, even if they're blind to the danger. [/center]
