Cupita, what does your job as a nursery mother entail you doing exactly? Do you enjoy this work?
Great frills that adorned Cupita's head now stretched to full size and fluttered as an excited coo escaped her trembling lips. Her tail waved side to side in a merry dance. Her bright voice rang as crisp as a bell in the low roofed crystal chamber.
"Oh finally! A visitor comes to talk to me! Yay! Oh I can not tell you how many times I've watched visitors foolishly go bombard Tenebris'Terra, Tenebris'Cor, or Great Mother forbid Karma with stupid questions! Hooray for attention!"
Despite her great size, Cupita nimbly jumped to her paws and bustled around the chamber. Her great claws raked mossy filaments into grand nests woven between crystal stalagmites. Arcane eggs floated silently above their nests, the low ceiling ensured that none floated out of reach. Cupita whipped around, her eyes never lost the merry luster that she radiated.
"As Nursery Mother, it is my job to coordinate the Nursery Sisters' schedules, secure nesting supplies, and see that the mothers that nest in here receive adequate mental support! Raising hatchlings is taxing work you know, especially if it is compounded with added duties from demanding occupations like the Day's Watch or Night's Watch. I and the Nursery Sisters that work under me all assist in making the mother's nesting experience comfortable. We make the nests, clean them everyday, collect meals from the Feast Hall, and watch the eggs when the mothers are away. We also provide day or night care services for hatchlings so that the mothers can get back to work when needed or just need a break!"
Cupita burst into a fit of giggles but oddly the sound seemed a struggle for her to produce.
"I know that this may seem out of place of me, being so bright and chipper while the rest of the clan seems to be consumed in never ending doom-and-gloom... but... you know? When things get dark...we need that little ray of light and fun. Even if it may be forced, it is still nonetheless reassuring."
Cupita raised a claw to her snout and rested the tip to her chin. "As for whether I enjoy the work, I simply adore it and wouldn't trade it for the world. Hatchlings are something to be celebrated and I love every single one that I've seen in my nursery. My nursery is a sanctuary, a peaceful and nurturing place."
Her lips broke into a giant Bogsneak smile. She chuckled, "Disturb that peace and my mate will rip you apart, ha! I love him!"
