TOPIC | Ancient Breed: Veilspun Dragons
I like them way more than I thought I would! I've never been a fan of ancients just because I like to smother my dragons in apparel... but I might actually be getting and keeping one of these guys. I find the design really pleasing and I especially like the branches and beetle terts.
However... I'm once again disappointed (as I was with the Gaolers) that this breed could have been a modern breed because of its design. I worry that continuing to give the ancients the same design template as the modern breeds will severely limit future modern breed development. (i.e.: "It has a beak/leather and feather wings? So it's Skydancer 2.0." type thinking) I wouldn't personally care if we did get a "Skydancer 2.0" but this is a sentiment I see from players quite frequently in regards to how "creative" a design is. I'm not sure you all agree with that mindset, but I can certainly see a new breed in the future be put down because it's just "Veilspun but with clothes."
I would have loved to see these guys have six legs or something interesting to make them fit the benefits of ancients presented in the original announcement thread. No matter what their design, they can't wear apparel. That will always be a drawback, so we end up with a dragon that literally has no compelling edge over its modern cousins. Why do we keep getting the two wings/four legs/one head/one tail template?

Regarding shell and web, the gene is correct.

If the files for web/shell are fine can we please have some clarification on why the gene is so different for abyss compared to other colors? It's clearly missing some of the pattern that the gene comes with. Can we get this updated in or?
It's not right guys. Colors or otherwise there are markings missing.

The markings are there, they are a similar color which creates the visual effect. They match up with the color swatches our artist sent in, and we rather like the effect! So not an error, but definitely a more wild swatch choice!

I LOVE the Abyss switch up! That shade in particular has some of the wildest color shifts I've seen - sometimes bright green, sometimes pink, sometimes blue or yellow or red. It's always a surprise!

I pretty like the Abyss swatch choice. I reminds me of Koi fish.

@Undel
None of the starmap colors are showing up. There's empty space for the primaries
