i listen to mostly punk / rock / alt stuff so hopefully ur into that !
the meices, assorted jelly beans, & mommy long legs are some pretty cool artists that fall into those categories if you're interested (-:
also not too sure about the genre but the stupid robots are a cool local band that i like!
on the more 'everyone knows who that is' side of things, i always recommend listening to the entire discographies of ariana grande & my chemical romance <3

-if you like vocaloid, i'd highly recommend wowaka. their music goes off and that part about them is something they're being remembered for. I MUST WARN, SOME SONGS ARE RELATIVELY DARK, but a few of them are mostly safe, and just hit hard with super raw lyrics.
-lemon demon. a lot of songs have swearing or other mentions of things i can't say here. however there is a big reason that a lot of people love lemon demon's music! i just started listening to lemon demon and i've already found a favorite song. all his songs go off so hard
-cavetown. admittedly i've only listened to a short clip of one song but i already love it and i've seen cavetown mentioned multiple times. anyway DEVILTOWN IS COLDER IN THE SUMMERTIME-
-kinda feel like i'm going against myself to say skillet. christian alt rock. music goes off. i like skillet.

Rare Americans!!
Favourite band, incredibly underrated in my opinion. Every single one of their songs is great.
They also released a new song today, so woohoo!
I also suggest:
- Tally Hall (I love Cannibal, it's so catchy and just cool.)
- Cosmo Sheldrake (Embracing my goblincore, I love the vibes of all his songs. The Moss, Pelicans We, etc are great)
- Oh and Bo En!!! My Time is honestly such a beautiful song, I love it.
Also, if you're willing to listen to songs that are in
Japanese:
- Nilfruits! I am in love with all their songs, honestly. Some favourites of mine are YESMAN, Haine Kleine, Hungry Nicole, and Muddy Marmalade.
- Same with TOPHAMHAT-KYO! I just love his song's vibes. He recently released Mister Jewel Box and it's so catchy!
I'm not really good with genres, so I can't tell you what their genres are, but honestly, it's just the vibes for me.

The Crane Wives are lesser known but put out absolute BOPS such as Curses, The Moon Will Sing, and The Hand That Feeds! Also I'd like to second (maybe third?) Cavetown, specifically This Is Home, Green, and Devil Town.
Also there's Juniper Vale, which I can't even explain you just have to look it up, one of my favorites of theirs is Bird Song
Another artist is Giselle, who made one of my current favorites, They Stay Down Deep. It's like a mix between a shanty and... something else (I'm good at describing music)
One last one I swear
Tally Hall is also amazing but in my experience more of an acquired taste sometimes. One of my favorites from them is &
