@vihuff Apologies, didn’t mean it shouldn’t be fixed, or that you were blaming anyone. Sorry if it came off that way. It was more addressed towards FR’s handling of the issue, and the stance they seem to be taking with regards to their mistake. I wish FR would consider the angle more of the people they’re adversely affecting before dropping sudden drastic changes due to their miscommunication (of how a gene would look) and expecting users to shoulder that blame/burden for not expecting it.

Oh also just realized I designed an entire accent based on what bane metallic used to look like and now I have to go through and fix it :)
I want to die :)

It's not a matter of "well it looked better before." Whether people like met/alloy isn't the issue. That's neither here nor there. It's that it didn't look like met/alloy and needed a name change, or to be fixed.

It was an error and needed to be fixed, they've fixed art errors before without a huge outcry. It sucks that they didn't announce it and people bought it not realizing it was broken but they generally don't announce art error fixes before hand.
They probably need a list of known art errors (other than the tracking thread in bugs) that is kept up to date, but considering the known issues thread hasn't been updated since 2015, its unilkiely such a list would be kept updated)

Didn't notice this until this thread pointed it out, but now? Idk. My banescales don't necessarily look bad with the change, but they're definitely different to how they looked before, and it's gonna take a bit to get used to it again. I think it's nice that they are fixing art errors, though, and it's also nice to (at least on metallic), the horns aren't weirdly 'blank' anymore. :>

Apotheos FR+8 She/Her I have too many projects send help |
Why is no one bringing up the fact that people spent actual money on these genes, only to have them become completely different overnight? That's the worst part imo. They're gem genes, they should have given a warning beforehand. It's not fair to those who have spent real life money.

They were broken as heck, and I extremely glad that they are what they should be now.

Now they don't look like Charizards anymore sadly. I liked it better before.

Sigh... seems like I was the only one to be damaged by the change...
Cream metallic looks terribile now :C

I agree that art issues should be fixed, but there really should've been a heads up that the genes were broken to begin with - rather than leave people guessing.
I preferred my boy with the 'old' Metallic... I'd probably still have given him that gene ('cause it's the only one that fits him) but I do feel a little cheated. One of the reasons I made him a Banescale was because Metallic was lighter.
