Oh, but can't you feel it?! The void, it's calling me- Calling all of us! It wants to eat our souls, so that we never ascend to the heavens, it wants to absorb us! It needs sustenance, so that it may expand and envelop this whole useless world! All that muck and grime, the ooze, it will fill every crevice of reality, and it will change the world into a paradise! All you have to do is live to see it!
And why aren't I scared? Because the void is the afterlife, and I am its Grim Reaper!

This is my first time making a character like this, hopefully it's to your liking. It isn't colored due to the fact that it's traditional and I thought it looked better as it is with the details an all. It's up to you if the markings on the face are paint or tattoos. I've included a small blurb of backstory but feel free to discard of it if it's not to your liking.

The Snake Charmer --
When (name) was born, she was perfect in everyway. Sure, she may have been born with one eye missing, but one eye is surely enough. That's what her mother thought. She loved her from the moment she saw her. If only she could hold her longer, she thought. Because as her infant lie in her arms, the mother was dying from complications during childbirth. Finally, her husband reached for the child. The mother tried to murmur out her final wishes... That he take care of her and love her. She opened her mouth. "Take... " and she died.
Now, the father was of a superstitious type. Ravaged with grief, he looked at the infant. It was because of her. She was a cursed babe in his eyes. Of course this was not true, but he believed it.
He abandoned her to an old spinster.
As she grew, she was picked on and teased beyond belief for her looks, before she finally ran away.
She was found by a carnival. And that, no, isn't the end of the tale... That's just where her story [i]begins[/i]
She has a boa and a cornsnake, and among all the snakes in the carnival's menagerie they are her favorite.
(Some interesting things I found out while researching snake charmers is that some will be tattooed/tattoo themselves with a mixture of [i]ink and snake venom[/i] in the belief that it will make them temporarily immune towards the snake bites. Like an inoculation according to what I read on Wikipedia, which may or may not be true, further research would be needed. Also, if you'd like, perhaps she carries antivenom with her at all times or something? Maybe a necklace with it or has vials stored up or something.)

Finished! Decided on slightly shaded but mostly Matte as I do have commissions to work on, but she was extremely fun to draw! :D
