I'm on the taller side (5'7") but I have a smaller waist and long legs, so pants either tent to fit in the waist/hips but are short or they're the right length but are too big in the waist/hips. In my experience American Eagle has nicely made pants and jeans, even if they are more expensive.

Yes, jeans that fit a larger bum can be a problem but for me I have more problems with my calf muscles. I'm short with a long back and wee legs, and my calf muscles look huge. Most women I see have barely there calves even when obviously very overweight. Meanwhile my calves are big and defined, despite doing very little in the way of excercise. The muscle makes my calves twice as wide as they'd otherwise be and it makes shopping for anything without elasticity (boots included) a bleeping military grade operation with all the forethought and planning that implies.
Even if I do manage to get into a pair of snug jeans by the end of the day I'd need shears or some serious help to peel them off.

I feel you in the calf department. A part from the rest of this thread, im not short or skinny, but I have very very toned legs. I thought I had problems before I started working out, but my calves grew even bigger, which I did not think was possible, except on my alien body it is. Now I just had to give away half my jeans because I can't get them past my calves.
It sounds silly but it's disappointing to stand there with your pants at your ankles and no hope. It's like trying to wrap a basketball with a sandwich bag. On the spectrum of large calves I don't even fall on the high end so to all others I see with superman calf muscles...we in this together...

I am also 5'2" with...ahem...assets.
I find that Levi's makes a "curvy" style. The website says it's #815 Curvy Boot Cut.
Other than that, you just have to try on lots of different types of jeans and see what fits.
I have purchased jeans in the past that mostly fit and then taken them to a tailor to have them altered at the back of the waist (and hem).
Good luck!

Complete opposite issue. 5'8, fat, and any jeans we do find... which is near impossible... cost at least twice as much as jeans made for thinner people. :') Good times.
Any chance of finding slightly bigger jeans and having them tailored to you? Might be easier, if you can afford it.

I can relate. I'm 4'11" and I have really muscular legs so my jeans are always to long, but if I buy the smallest size so they aren't to long they're usually really tight
