Is it unique to your clan?[/quote] Sleeping is definitely the most common form of recreation, no doubt about it. But other than that, reading and writing is a common recreational activity. It seems a little boring, but for a lot of dragons, it's very entertaining and relaxing. For those who don't like to read or write, playing little games, like tag or guessing games are common, too. Also, cooking is an activity which some dragons try their hands at.

They would be punished with a job like scrubbing the walls and floor, washing dishes, or any other embarrassing job.

If the rumor causes havoc on the clan or encourages violent action of any kind then the dragon who started the rumor might be imprisoned or exiled. If the rumor is minor, but mean the dragon who started it might get scolded.

My dragons sorta live for gossip so unless it's something serious that has to do with the matriarch, or involves causing anyone in the clan harm or making the order of how things are done go wild then there would be repercussions. Otherwise it would essentially just be like Big Brother or somethin and everyone would just pick sides and then get over it a couple days later.

Here, it isn't just dragons that happen to live in the same area, they come as strangers and stay as friends. But if a rumor would start, everyone would be highly suspicious. The Clan Council would attempt to get to the bottom of the problem if it were severe enough. They would take rational and unbiased steps to a solution. If the rumor turned out to be false, the starter of the rumor would be tracked down and confronted. If the rumor turned out to be true, then the Council would decide the next appropriate course of action.

It really depends on what kind of rumor it was. If its something that could comprise the integrity of the clan then serious punishment like probation for activities/trading or possible expulsion from the clan. If its a more trivial rumor they would be given punishments like stern talks, chores, or other unsavory tasks.

Are their lives spared?[/quote] There's always bound to be a rumour running around, but false rumours are always found out, and dealt with immediately. Nothing severe happens- families don't get torn apart, and the punishment for spreading one isn't severe. You just get a harsh scolding from the clan leaders or have to do extra work for a while. Let's just say, those scoldings aren't fun at all, nor is extra work.

Are their lives spared?[/quote] It depends, honestly. There are a few mischievous dragons who are almost always spreading rumors about something, let it be true or false. It isn't usually anything too harmful though, so we let it slide, usually. But if things get a little out of hand, someone will eventually take action and put a stop to it.
