@undel
Please, please, if there is any right or power in the world, please get rid of that terrible fleshy color that violet has. Please. It doesn't make sense, and it's...ew. It's just ew.

Our current selection of 67 colors will not be going anywhere, but when the new colors are implemented you will certainly have more options!

So you mentioned that the old breed colours would be adjusted to match new breed colours. Does this work include all genes or are there only some that need updating?

This includes everything, (sans iridescent, which does not use standard swatches) but your dragon existing dragons are not going to be wildly changing!
To clarify, there are very very slight differences in color from dragon to dragon, and our new tool suite will be making everything the exact colors.
The older breeds with old genes, such as fae, mirror, tundra, ridgeback, pearlcatcher, guardian, where colored by hand before we used a standard swatch sheet. They are very close to the same colors, but if you were to color sample their body and shadows, you'd find that the hex codes are ever so slightly different from one another. Example: the emerald tiger on a guardian may be a few points different from the emerald tiger used on a pearlcatcher. Newer breeds and genes were still colored by hand up till this point, but they used a standardized swatch sheet so the colors were the same from breed to breed. ex: the emerald used on a coatl will be exactly the same as the emerald used on a nocturne. The emerald crystal used on a nocturne will be the same as an emerald crystal used on a guardian.
Our new tools will be using our existing swatches that we have been using on the new, so older breeds may have their colors alter very very slightly after we update our color wheel. On the newer breeds and genes, the change will probably not be noticeable at all. For all intents and purposes, the original 67 colors are remaining the same.
On the subject of updates to the templates today, they are going to be few. Today I have to get some other things prepared and worked on. That front page is looking a bit old! Thundercrack... that was so last week. Still, I'll see if there's time to get at least one more color up on the board.

BlueTrillium Exactly. A wide range actually has reason to complain- new colors might flip-flop it. Even so, though, it wouldn't be hard to re-construct.
@
dragonrider1217 It's not pointless, you know. New colors won't change the dragon, only the breeding. I think we're all very certain that Robin isn't between Splash and Sky- if you look at its positioning on the grid, it comes AFTER Caribbean, while Splash and Sky are BEFORE. Now, that's not saying a new color might be added there later, but if one is, all you have to do is find another appropriate mate.

You probably answered this already, but I can't find the answer.
When hatching an unhatched element/nocturn egg will the new colors be available? Or will they only be available from pre-existing dragons?

Would just like to say
thank you for your hard work! It's always nice to see little preview threads like this- or like that time you were making new coli drop items and let people suggest what monsters to make stuff for next. It's definitely a nice treat for us! Keep making awesome looking stuff! =D
Loving the new colors so far! Can't wait to see the expanded color wheel when it's done! =D

Undel, I hope you're enjoying our comments as much as we're enjoying seeing the new stuff!
Ooh! It sounds like we're getting new stuff soon. :D

I love Sable so much. I have a serious addiction to all of the brown tones, though. I even like Beige. :P

Also, while I'm here, gotta second all the thanks for doing this! It's so much fun to watch.
