Currently, I'm learning French on duolingo. Problem is that I just learn the words and such, I try to understand the grammar notes but it doesn't always make sense to me...
I also tried German on it but failed miserably because they have masculine, feminine, and neutral gender assignments. DX

I'm taking Spanish next year (aka in 4 months).
German is my mother tongue and I think I speak english quite fluently. I've also learned french in school, but I've forgotten most of it and I think it's very difficult to learn. Probably as much as german, isn't it? :D
I'd like to learn polish or dutch at some point in my life, because I have polish family and I'm living 5 minutes away from Holland.

I'm learning Danish on my own time. I'm taking French at school, but my teacher isn't that good at her job, so I barely know anything in French.
Dutch is my mother tongue, and I'm fluent in English. Other than that I now some basic Japanese and a little bit of Italian (thanks Assassin's Creed). Really want to learn Icelandic though.

This owlet evolved large, adorable eyes to deter hungry predators with its cuteness. Are you going to fall for that? (Special thanks Petrichora.)

For a time owls sought to build nests in the Observatory at Focal Point. They quickly stopped when their owlets began turning pink. (Special thanks ZephiraZ.)

At home, I'm barely able to speak conversational Cantonese with my family, but it's enough to get by with them. I'll be taking Mandarin in the next school year, though, so that's something to look forward to.

I used to be fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin as a child, but now completely forgotten most of them...
I've always thought of retiring to Iceland and learning the Icelandic language. I had a friend who had to do a presentation on it once and she avoided pronouncing the names of natural structures and the such, lol.

I speak english as a foreign language. (obviously XD)
Other than that.. Nothing but a few words of Russian, French, Italian, spanish, Danish/Norse... well not enough to have a conversation. But enough to go shopping and well.. getting some directions.
When you speak english you really get lazy. Its crazy how much you rely on that one language when you could speak/learn the others just es well.
Well yes.. german is a mean language.. I found russian to be worse. I mean.. Latin with 5 cases? Ok.. That was doable.. 6 Cases in russian? no canche.. XD Don't ask me why. Its just one more case but I never...
Well grammar never was my fortitude at all.

I speak fluent English as my first language, and I've been learning German for ... going on eight years now? I could still use some practice speaking and listening to it, but with reading and writing I think I'm getting fairly fluent -- at this point there's mostly just the frustration of working with a limited vocabulary and the occasional grammar nuance. Besides those two, I have a very basic knowledge of Russian. I'm trying to learn it as my third language, but I'm still very much a beginner.
That's about it for the moment, but my dream is to study linguistics and eventually work as a translator/interpreter, so I would love to gain a working knowledge of at least a few other languages. In particular, I have my eye on Mandarin, French, Dutch, Polish, Latin, Arabic, and Irish as possible future goals. Some because of family history, others just because I like how they sound or I think they would be interesting to learn.
