Post and you'll be assigned an auction slot in first come, first serve order (or you may request an auction slot at a specific time of your choice if you prefer). This is my default setting when I'm online often enough to properly handle auctions: post, bump, respond to queries, etc. [b]Selectively open[/b] - Case-by-case basis; I will generally try to auction smaller groups of dragons, and/or dragons of higher value, and provide pricing suggestions for the rest. This is my default setting when I have limited online time and can only run an auction or two at once, or I may only have time during certain days/weeks and have to take breaks in between auctions. Mass auctions in the past have caused problems with people cross-bidding on the same dragon for the same amount, due to not seeing the previous bid. Using the dragon's ID makes it easy to locate the dragon's most recent bid with the search function, so no one has to go through the entire thread to find out how much they need to offer to secure the dragon(s) they want. As for smaller auctions, I agree it's not strictly necessary, but it's simpler for everyone involved if I have a consistent policy in all auctions, since I run so many of them. [*] [b]Why I don't allow edits in bid posts:[/b] Imagine this scenario: your dream dragon has a standing bid of 1kg. You offer 1.1kg. Someone else comes in and slaps 100kg on the table. You see the ping, think "oh well, I'm out of this run for good", and after a while the person who bid 100kg edits their post to a bid of only 1.2kg. While this is an extreme case, an analogous situation has happened before, and I managed to catch it only because I saw the post both before and after the edit. I can't guarantee I'll be online at the right time to prevent this, which is why the rule exists.
