I noticed there are threads in quests&challenges where people post things like dragon projects, hib den trackers, wish lists etc all in one thread for their personal needs.

I tried to make one myself but it got deleted and i was told:
"Wishlists and personal references are best suited to personal profiles, dragon profiles, or external documents. The forums are intended for conversation, so threads that do not contribute to discussion are spam."

However, I used already existing threads as inspo for mine so i don't know how mine was different? I tried to ask how i could fix what i did to match the others already up and prevent it from being deleted but never got an answer so now i'm wondering if any of you have any ideas?

I really need to keep things in one area like others have theirs because it really helps me visually or from being stressed out by not all scattered on different dragons or having a million bookmarks on my browser orz

Obligatory "not a mod" so any advice I give should be taken with a grain of salt.

First: did you label your thread as private/do not post, or have any indicator that you wanted to prohibit people from ever posting in the thread? Since forum threads cannot exclude people from posting (with the exception of things like setting up a thread where it's obvious you're asking people not to post until you've claimed all the posts you need), any indicator that you are not intending to allow people to post will be a mark against you.

Second: How old are these existing threads? Are they currently active? It could be that you're referencing threads that were posted long ago and slipped beneath the moderation radar.

That said, what you were told is correct, this kind of thing would probably be best suited for a dragon profile or external documents like a Word document, a private Toyhou.se literature, a Google doc, etc.

@SeaCrest the ones i referenced are both old and new between 2020-2025 so i don't think that's an issue?
Also i'm not sure if it seemed like i was trying to prevent others from posting? i never said anything about not posting and to be honest it was still a work in progress and only a couple days old so i still had a lot of stuff to add/fix.

I considered a google doc but like I mention i'm a visual person and being able to just copy and paste an item number to see the like images of items etc is what helps me rather than having word lists which like stresses my brain out? lol I don't know how to describe it.
so i might just have to like copy all the items image address and paste them in the doc that way instead. if that's allowed?

You can always use a dragon profile so you can use the FR BBCodes. But copying the images should be fine too.

This is quite old but I'd like to know the outcome of this because I too want something similar and am wondering if it can be within the threads or has to be put on something like a dragon/clan profile, especially since I want to do a lot of BBCode formatting and theres no preview button on those.
