I've browsed a bunch of topics, but I do not know where to begin on everything. How do I interact with my dragons? What do I do with them? My account is many years old, but I've never actually played because I just get confused and lost every time I try.
Thank you for any help you can give me on getting started :)

for starters, you should check out the which waystone to see what sorts of things you can do around the site or just explore the links on the left side of the page
for interacting with your dragons you can dress them up, customize their genes, breed them or fight with them in coli
as for tips on starting off, you could start off by making some money in fairgrounds. you can get up to 75kt per day from it which is a considerable amount compared to other dailies. you can also look for cheap dragons that you like on either the auction house or the dragons for sale/raffles and giveaways forums

It's a breeding game. go to Nesting grounds and make them have an egg.

@Kiyomice
Welcome back! At its core, Flight Rising is a game about buying, breeding, hatching, and customizing dragons as you please. It's one of those games where you can often find your own fun, whether you're making a dragon based on your original character, writing stories about the dragons in your clan, or just collecting the most ridiculous-looking beasts you can think of.
First, if you haven't already, see the Rules & Policies and brush up on the Terms of Use. The rules you remember may have been changed or updated since you last played. You don't have to study them all at once, but it's important to know what is and isn't allowed!
Second, I'd honestly just suggest exploring the links on the left sidebar and see what they do! Learning by experience can sometimes be easier than reading a lengthy guide, but those guides are still an option if you don't understand what a page is for. The Encyclopedia is pretty helpful, too, as it explains some game mechanics and most in-universe lore.
If you're confused on something specific, you can make another thread in Help Center to ask, or use Forum Search to see if your question has been answered before. Be sure to search for "Most Recent," as "Most Relevant" ironically tends to pick up old and outdated threads.

[*]The Chronological Update Reference logs every announcement or addition to the site, so you can catch up on all the new features you've missed! If you're confused on something new, chances are you'll find it here, and you can view the original announcement for more information.
[*]I'd recommend Exalting and You: A PSA to anyone just getting into Flight Rising. It explains the exalting mechanic in detail - an important part of gameplay that keeps the dragon economy flowing freely.
[*]When you've got an idea of what you want to do in this game, the Data-Based Money Making Guide is a comprehensive explanation on the most efficient ways you can get Treasure and Gems. It might be overwhelming when you're just starting out, so I'd recommend bookmarking it until you've gotten used to exploring FR on your own.
[*]Honestly, the Guides forum in general. You've got questions, you'll probably find answers. Whenever you're looking up a question with Forum Search, you'll want to look in Guides or in Help Center. If you still can't find what you're looking for, that's when you make a thread in Help Center to get a specific answer!
[*]The Scrying Workshop has some helpful tools for planning and breeding dragons, but perhaps the most important for a new player is Predict Morphology. You can experiment with different breeds, colors, elements, and genes to see what kinds of dragons you like! You can even save these scries with the floppy disk icon under "Unsaved Morphology," so you can look back on it later and try to breed that dragon for real.

I hope this was more helpful than overwhelming! There are a lot of little details that can be daunting all at once, but just have fun and explore what interests you. [emoji=new friend]

@Kiyomice I see you've gotten some good answers, but I'll also toss in my 2 cents: it's hard to explain what FR is and how to play because it's actually broad enough to encompass a number of disparate playstyles. It's a breeding game with a heavy focus on battling monsters to get your dragons stronger and then sending them out of the game with the exalt mechanic. However. Because of how the game is structured, there are plenty of people who actually… don't do any of that. A lot of people are just here to make pretty dragons and dress them up or write lore for them. Some people are just here for breeding and don't want to touch the Coliseum or Dominance mechanics. Etc etc.
The Which Waystone, as mentioned, is a good start for doing dailies and learning your way around the site— you wouldn't have seen that when you first started your account because it's a fairly new feature, so hopefully it helps! I'd definitely recommend trying out different things and seeing what you like, and from there you can figure out how you want to play. If something isn't fun to you, don't feel you have to do it! If nothing on the site is fun, that's one thing, but if breeding isn't fun, you can engage other ways. If Coliseum isn't fun, you can engage other ways. There are a lot of more passive ways to make treasure if you don't like the games at the Fairgrounds, like Baldwin's Bubbling Brew.
I hope you have fun here! [emoji=ridgeback happy size=1]
