Music that plays as I fumble my pan flip of a half cooked pancake and the entire ensemble cartwheels end over end in midair and lands with a wet slap and clattering crash onto the wood flooring. The parakeet stares judgingly. The dog gazes longingly. I am left bereft of breakfast and must now suffer the indignity of cleaning it up beneath their searing eyes.
