@Sashathebrave Yeah I completely lost all of my fear for reapers once I discovered that you can avoid them so easily by circle-strafing. They're so easy to deal with now. I made a tutorial vid on that years ago and it remains my most popular youtube vid to date lol.
Good luck with your current playthrough. I kinda want to pick it up again as well, it's been years since I've last played this game.

Ever since I updated my computer, it hasn't been able to open Subnautica. The app icon just bounces for an eternity. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Edit: It's fixed! I opened it by right-clicking Steam and clicking on the name of the app hovering above it...weird that that worked while opening it through freakin' TERMINAL didn't, but oh well, it works now I guess (shrug)
Edit 2: When I tried to open a world, it crashed for no reason. Back to the drawing board [emoji=guardian angry size=2]
Edit 3: Okay, I did it again and it's working! :D

@Endee Wait you can do that? I had no idea you could strafe the reapers like that. I just avoided them at all costs :'D

Hey! Had a rough day, but I'm gonna try at least giving some tips since I promised them. Going to send more tips tomorrow.
-As someone who scanned both the reapers and the ghost leviathans, I recommend preparing before you're ready to. Make sure you have a Stasis rifle and aim for the head, along with being really good at turning and twisting (due to the awful turn radius) before you're ready to scan them. You can take a bite at full health before dying, so bring bandages to heal.
-Agreeing that Seamoth should be your next priority. It helps you get around a lot quicker, has bonuses liking echolocation and other upgrades, along with depth modules, and it can act as an "air bubble" so you can explore deeper for longer. After that, I recommend preparing in time for fixing the Aurora, though depending on where you are at, it might take some time before you get that prompt.

Yes you can! Shameless self-plug, here's the tutorial video I made on it a few years ago.
It's spoiler free, though it does show a teeny tiny bit of my decorated base, if you consider base parts and decoration spoilers but it only shows for like the first 5 seconds. Forgive the exceptionally dumb reaper in the video, he's a precious noodle and tries his best.
@DriftingDreams Agreed that after getting a seamoth, preparing for the Aurora is the next big thing to focus on. There's a lot of good loot and such inside so you'll probably need to make more than one trip if you want to get everything. The laser cutter, the repair tool and the propulsion cannon are mandatory to reach every location inside.
Did you know that you can enter the broken bits of wreckage you can find scattered around as well? There's usually always a door that needs to be cut open with the laser cutter. Also good for looting and finding blueprints. The seamoth has a little bit of onboard storage so I always keep some spare tools, batteries etc in there for on the road.

I have now built a Seamoth! I feel like I can go anywhere!
...Problem is, where should I go?

Congrats! First, I recommend getting some depth module resources to increase the depth your Seamoth can go! If you accidentally go too deep, it'll be destroyed but he pressure, so getting modules is really helpful! Then ,once you think you're ready, I recommend Sparse Reef. It has a lot of resources and not too many dangers, apart from depth, so it can help get you prepared for building more complex things.
