I can back the last two users' complaints. Given how much I disliked the book Be More Chill, written by the same author as It's Kind of a Funny Story, I could not see why the musical was so popular.
The Twilight series is memetically bad, so we need not elaborate further. The Hunger Games trilogy, though, had a good concept with a mediocre execution. I'm not so mad about The Hunger Games itself more than...everything its capital success inspired. Most notably, the girls I went to middle school with were all over the Divergent series. I read the book, just to see what the hype was about, and it was awful. Nothing made sense. You would not believe the relief I felt when I saw literary YouTubers dunk on it.
