Also, here's the alt I made today, I chose GLD for his starting class, hopefully he can help me learn how to tank and help me be more confident about trying the role I've been scared of playing since.... probably not long after I first unlocked dungeons

Just thought I'd show him off (And yes I know he still has the default outfit, I just made him, did the tutorial, and then logged out to go do the Yokai event with my main)

Ohman, I remember playing this! I loved the game, but none of my friends were willing to play(since you have to pay), so I never got past the first town. Maybe someday I'll come back to it

Euphora You should definitely come back to it! I've been playing since around the time that quarantine started, and it's really fun, it helped me get through being stuck at home all day

@Gabbiani I'm gonna try, but it's hard times atm-once I get back on my feet, I might dive back into it.
I think my favorite thing to do in this game was taking pictures! There was so many poses and expressions you could make, and the places there were amazing.

Gabbiani Love your Thancred!
I started playing a tank as well after really not wanting to out of fear of messing up and so far I'm really enjoying it? It's actually not as bad as your brain tells you it will be. I think my biggest fear is getting lost in some of the ARR dungeons! Mostly I've been playing with a friend as healer but one time I did a leveling roulette alone and got Toto Rak, I said sorry in advance if I get turned around but one of the DPS started jumping near each turn to help and it went fine.
As long as you rotate through your defensive cooldowns and keep bosses pointed away from your team, you're fine. (Also since you get very few cooldowns early on, remember Arms Length is one! It doesn't just null knockback, it will put a Slow effect on anything that hits you making it awesome to use on trash mobs.)

Gabbiani Your Thancred looks amazing! GL tanking, I've heard it can take some getting used to but all the tanks I know love it.

BladeDancer Thank you! I bought his ARR outfit from the Mog Station yesterday just to complete the look, though I haven't put it on him yet! And thanks for the tanking advice! Here are some of the main reasons why I'm nervous about tanking:
1. I picked CNJ as my main's starting class, and as the healer, my top priority in dungeons and trials is keeping everyone from being dead, and guess which role generally takes the most damage while fighting bosses and trash mobs
2. Since ideally, all the enemies in close proximity are focusing on the tank, it looks like way too much aggro for me to handle. I get that that's pretty much the whole point as to why tanks have the Extra Strong Armor, but it just seems too stressful for me
3. In dungeons, I'm following the tank 99.9% of the time. And since I've gotten lost and/or started going the wrong way because I've forgotten where the party is supposed to be going, I'm probably gonna need some time before I get good at actually leading everyone to where we're supposed to be going

As long as you're keeping your defensive cooldowns rotated you're doing all you can to stay alive, the rest is up to the healer. It really helps to go in with someone you know and trust playing as a healer. It does make you panic a bit when you see your health just
drop but as long as you trust them to keep you up it's not as bad.
Do you have the Squadrons unlocked? You can actually do a few early dungeons with a team of them to practice, although the AI healers there are really bad. I have panicked more with the AI just straight up not healing me than with people so far.
Getting lost is still my biggest worry, but on the bright side once you're out of the ARR dungeons everything is just a linear path.

I'm almost tempted to go back from my break both to take advantage of the sale and for the Yokai Watch event as I always missed out on the previous ones (I've still never seen the anime aside from a couple random episodes, but I enjoy the games).
I'd probably just blow what little money I have on outfits, though. That and the Posing Ranger poses for my Viera (got 'em on my Midlander):

Formerly known as Brenning.
@Brenning I've seen the anime on Netflix, and even though I haven't played the games, I've watched playthroughs on Youtube of the first one.
And yeah, a lot of the Mog Station outfits and emotes are cool. Though if I had the money, I would blow it on the Fatter Cat mount. It's just so cute!!!
