Everyone, I found a very special bird today. Male blackbird, very common sight, but this one...

I have one of the original birb children of the breeding pair if you’d like. They no longer fit into my lair, and I’m not as active anymore, so I’d love to see them go to a good home!

@Darkstalker62 I love your budgie coatl, he's adorable and perfect!! ;u; <3333
@Xionahri Wow, he's super neat! The mottling of white patches throughout the black is really pretty....Perhaps he's piebald? I actually saw a crow that was similarly white-patched just the other day, but I failed to get a picture of it. What was really interesting about the crow was that the white patches appeared to be symmetrical, and they were mostly concentrated on the wings. Hopefully I'll see the same bird again this week and be able to get some pics! What a pretty bird you found; thanks for sharing!
Had a really hard week this week....a fox somehow got in with our ducks and killed 2, and injured another 2. One is doing fine now, and the other (my personal favorite of our ducks) is still recovering. We lost both our Khaki Campbell girls to the fox, and it breaks my heart because they were such cute little birds with such sweet personalities.....They didn't deserve to go like that.....The whole thing was pretty traumatic. We're getting a new electric fence to replace the faulty one, so our birds should be safer once that's installed, but the whole thing has left me with this feeling of despair and dread about the potential of losing more birds, even though my dad "took care of" the fox that attacked them....I just....never knew foxes would attack that many birds at once like that. It was so awful.....I've always loved foxes, so I've always had a hard time with the idea of harming one, but the amount of senseless suffering it inflicted on our ducks was extremely upsetting to me.....I know he was just following his instincts, and I still love foxes, but I don't know that I'll ever be able to look at them in quite the same way again. I guess I had sort of idealized them, in a way. Nature can be so cruel sometimes, and it's easy to forget that.....But...at least our other birds are okay, and now we're taking steps to make both our birds and any would-be predators safer and prevent any further tragedies like this, hopefully.
