So the 2017 thing still works...?

Yes it does! (I should really rename the title of this forum thread but idk what to name it)
I've seen other forum posts like the Mire Millionaire that basically discuss the same change to stats. Everything that's crossed out is pre-coliseum change so it's just history if you want to read it.
(and the stat change combined with alternating between using meditate, scratch, or anticipate, is effective at farming any venue you would like to farm with the exception of Kelp Beds and Golem Workshop)

I’ve used the 119 STR for forever and I am surprised not a lot of people know about it.
Sure it makes your VIT lower so you are more a glass cannon at the start but it is a powerhouse solo Mire dragon once you get going. I have a meditate Mire as well but that was a random AH fodder find that already had an eliminate.
I find the scratch/elim classic easier to be honest because I have been using it for literal years. (I think since the coli revamp... don’t remember exactly when that was 2016 or 2017... something like that)
Love that this guide is getting around now :3

To be honest, I should rly update the first page bcs I've actually switched over to using anticipate instead of meditate; sure meditate is more stable and simple, but there's so much joy in being able to eliminate on the second round of attack from using eliminate if you're in venues like Crystal Pool or Ghostlight Ruins and they hit your trainer with their melee attacks
(I think coli revamp was 2 years ago)

Yeah Jan 2018.
I have heard of the anticipate build but never really tried it yet. I might do it on my Mire Imperial since I am not satisfied with the meditate build.
Here are my Mire girls :3

[s]Grace looks so pretty :o[/s]
Honestly you can just switch out scratch/meditate/anticipate on your single Mire Flyer depending on what you get bored with and want to do instead (or have 1 of each), the stats remain the same and are effective across the other venues ^^
Here's my double-fodder single trainer (that makes all my other lvl 25s obsolete)

Sorry for the maybe redundant question, I read all the pages here but tbh coli talk goes in one ear and out the other for me sometimes :') When you stone your double fodder trainer with Anticipate, are there mobs you want to avoid in the Mire? I'm training up an Arcane dragon so he won't have elemental weaknesses but aside from bosses does Anticipate make it harder to deal with the Psywurms and other fast ones bc it doesn't generate as much breath as Meditate? I used to have a glass cannon with meditate aaaages ago when I used two 25s to farm the Kelp Beds but I honestly don't remember any of the strategy bc I've been using a Mire Flyer with scratch since like 2016 LOL

Hey there! Anticipate is a give-or-take situation. Meditate is best when starting against caster enemies and anticipate is best when starting against melee enemies. This is because meditate you want them to take their time and let you kill them before they attack. With anticipate, you want the enemies to hit you so you can generate breath fast by anticipating right before they hit.
It doesn't make it 'harder' per say to deal with the Psywurms, it would just simply mean that you would take more time to generate enough breath to eliminate, as you'll have to wait for them to attack to get enough breath, or worst case scenario just spend 8 turns rallying/bolster/ward/anticipate because the mobs hate you and don't want to give you breath (this happens e.e). On the other hand, it's beautiful when you get hit by all 3 enemies on the first turn with anticipate, getting you enough breath to eliminate immediately.
Tl;dr:
You prefer starting with caster mobs with meditate/scratch, you prefer starting with melee mobs with anticipate, the only mobs you want to avoid is the boss. The choice of stone is mainly how you want to start your run and recover from missed eliminates :3
