@Trinity1 A buff is when you give yourself a powerup- in this build's case it means using Haste or Rally on your trainer. This build doesn't use scratch because it uses Anticipate instead to build breath.
It doesn't help you to Anticipate at any time other than immediately before enemies will go, so the turns before that need to be spent using Haste/Bolster/Rally.

Hey! I've been using Kyrla as a ghostlight antictank for a while, thanks for making the build! I'm curious whether it's actually quicker in time than a mire flyer (more exp/hour), I run both (I also run a Crystal Pools specialist, I like mixing it up) and haven't really tested which is quicker.
Edit: I think this one might be slower because my dragon's typing isn't great (I just tinctured a dragon I had with elim instead of getting one to lv25 particularly, so I die a bunch)

I ran some tests initially with Sylv when I wrote this guide up! The leveling itself is slower because the experience progression is a lower rate than the Mire. When I first posted the guide the GLR was on the first page of venues and the Mire was on the second page, so the GLR build made up time there too.
The first mob setup is faster, but it ultimately does not compensate unless you're powerleveling level 4 fodders while conquest battling for dominance. And even then I'm not sure if it still holds up.
THIS ALL SAID, unless you're going for supreme robotic efficiency, what build you pick is up to personal taste and what you'll go fastest with is what you personally gel with best.

@salamanderpie
Yeah, I generally prefer this build because of the loot for everything except these double exp events, when I prefer to just level a bunch of dudes up to level 25 as quickly as possible, so I go with Mire Flyer. Thanks for the answer! It's a great build and really fun to not be stuck in the Mire forever... I especially like how I can often manage bosses with it!

@Salamanderpie I'm a new to the Anticitank build and although I'm using a nature element dragon, I think (?) are more physical attackers than in the Mire so my trainer runs low on health really quickly. And for encountering bosses, I suppose I just reload (you might have said something about this but I didn't read all the way down)? Thanks!

@lavendersoap Yes! I put the Anticipate stone in because it gains breath from the physical hit. Reload on bosses, but after the first set and breath gathering you don't need to do it again.

I've been using this build for a long time, and I absolutely love it. I'd like to give a bit of my own input, including ways to kill bosses!
Disoriented Spirits are tougher than Malevolent Spirits for the purpose of their Bleed effect on Shred, and this is because I train with a Nature Dragon. If you're going to engage a boss, I recommend starting with enough Breath for 2 Elims, and relatively high HP (~<80%). At 115 STR, you need 5 Rallied Eliminates + 1 Sap (The Sap does NOT need to be buffed). Turn one goes: Haste, Rally, Elim, Anticipate. Elim and Anticipate again. At this point, Haste has worn off, so you need to use it again. One of the big essentials of fighting a Spirit is to maintain Haste at all times. You really want the 2-3 turns in between its attacks!
I will say that this means you have to be focused on these fights. Landing a Critical Elim means you need one less, and you're going to want to factor that in. If you're going to use Rally, you need to commit to using Eliminates and not spending time using Health Potions. Yeah, you can draw out the fight against a Malevolent Spirit with a Nature Dragon, but you can't do that against a Disoriented Spirit. Count your attacks, breath, and HP, and you'll figure out a way to solve the puzzle!

An update, four years later
Still love this build. It has helped me train a lot of dragons both Fodder and Perma dragons, current plans are to train another XXX orca to try redfoot varient and train a healer that is water based.
also update: The purple dragon isn't being trained for GLR, and I'm training other dragons with this build. Is very good build
