There have been a lot of discussions recently about colours to match the accent and contrasting shades in genes like Petals/Butterfly and Poison/Toxin. Others have made guides which pick out a single accent colour from the gene, but I wanted to make a more general guide which shows all of the colours used in the gene. I used photoshop to determine which of the colour wheel options is the closest match to all the shades in every colour! That's a lot of colours. So... I made a spreadsheet.
How to use the spreadsheet
So far, the spreadsheet covers just Poison/Toxin and Petals/Butterfly (hopefully other genes will be added in time!). Each gene is made of a selection of different colours. In general, they are not exact matches to the other colour wheel options, but I used photoshop to 'mathematically' choose which of the colour wheel options is the closest match to every shade in the gene.
Poison/Toxin is made up of four different colours. The colours are labelled in the spreadsheet as follows (this example image is Leaf Poison / Leaf Toxin):
Petals/Butterfly is made up of four different colours, plus the basic shade itself. The colours are labelled in the spreadsheet as follows (this example image is Leaf Petals / Leaf Butterfly):
I mostly made the spreadsheet for my own use, so it may be terribly user-unfriendly. Please tell me if you have ideas for making it easier to use and understand!
